I have been trying to eradicate a weed I am assured is Bishop's weed or Bishop's Goutweed. I spent an entire afternoon last year digging down more than a foot to try to get the rhizomes out, but I couldnt get to the end of them. They are sprouting afresh this season, in much smaller sizes, and I'm spraying them with a natural herbicide (BurnOut II) that actually does burn them totally, but then new sprouts appear.
I just read Dave's history blog on these, and am not encouraged. I feel committed to not giving any money to Monsanto. Any other current ideas?
Help! Afflicted with Bishop's Weed
Keep digging. It will be a multi-year project, with weekly installments of effort, but if you keep at it diligently, you will win out!
Thanks altagardener- I wish you were here.
Thanks but I got my own weeds! ;-)
