oohh an encore ... been looking at them for a while.. didn't think they were hardy for us

I have a couple azaleas that don't bloom well yet either... but seem to get better every year

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

This appears to be a double, again one bloom this year. I even gave it some shade, last year it was fried.

My peony seedling. I was convinced it was a maple seedling but the leaf shape is that of a peony, was next to my festiva maxima.

Its so great to hear the birds befor the sun is up. I am an early riser and love it when its light by 6:00. Winter is horrible no daylight until 8:00

I let the dogs out at 5 and could hear the peepers. They started a couple weeks ago but left when we were going down in the 30's. But their back :-)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nice size clems Ge!
Rama I have no luck w/ Azeleas...none! I only grow Rhodys now , small leaf and big leaf, thats it! LOL Festiva Maxima is one peony I don't own but have recently fallen in love...it's on my list!
Allison you babies look wonderful!! Its so nice to see all your hard work pay off....when they come back like that, it's such a good feeling! You should see your poppy babies you sent to me, one has a really fat bud!!!

I've still got tulips blooming.

This is a tree off my back deck, not sure what it is but it's is stunning this year. It has lovely white flowers, no fragrance that I can smell and bronze leaves.

Cistine plum of sorts Pixie on post#7753598 that you have. Lovely bloom. How big is the shrub or is it a tree?
I just got back from home depot and rescued a cherry parfait healthy looking rose for $10. Do you think the home depot guys laugh at us? So far whoever we rescued have behaved. I must say that these azaleas that I posted were a rescue from lowes end of season.

It's a tree Rama, about 15' tall.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I heard on the radio HD had smaller perennials on sale 5 for $10... think Randy and I will run over there later on.. see if they have anything worth while

yeah for the poppy bud Celeste!!!!... not sure if it was because of the heavy rain we had last week.. but mine look sorta floppy... hope they get better with age... LOL

Love how my 'Waterfall' JM looks in the sun. Framed with (blurry) Jack Frost brunnera flowers

Does anyone know how to get both the flowers in the foreground and the tree in focus?

Sure - if your camera has a Landscape setting, use that and focus on the flowers in the foreground. If not, set to aperture priority and pick the highest number you can go to - f 22 or something.

That is a great Waterfall shot. Can you take one of it by itself when it's backlit like that?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love the BJ

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've said that more than once. ^_^

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Tried the aperature setting. Didn't work. I'm sure it's user error!

The lighting has changed but here's a shot of just the JM. I'll have to try it again tomorrow.

It needs a haircut, but, yes, it's shaping up nicely. I've had it about four years and it was good size when I bought it.

Tinkerbell is a cutie! Just my old fashioned lilac is blooming. Rama, my azaleas never have too many flowers either. Pixie, that tree looks like a cherry or plum. Here are azalea buds, but only on top of the shrub.

SongsofJoy, lovely photos, and your JM is stunning, especially backlit!

Victor, you already know that the beautiful dawn redwood gets extremely large, without trimming it will become a huge beastie!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)
