Hellebores still going strong.
2010 Garden Photos - Part 7
I love your spinning dahlia!!!!!
Thanks. I like it too.
I'm with Sherrie, dizzy from the beauty of the photos! I'm also dizzy from blood pressure going through the roof over 2 very bad, bad dogs who chewed their way through the metal fence....that would be Suey Crocodile mouth...and left the neighborhood while Garret & I were trying to straighten out banking stuff, & were gone until almost 7.....I'm still weak from worry...they, on the other hand, are fast asleep!
Victor, I never get tired of seeing the photos of your fabulous "mini-arboretum."
I am smitten with the spinning dahlia (she says, trembling with desire). LMAO cuz DH just spewed a refreshing beverage when I read that out loud ^_^ All the fleurs and shrubby things are so prettiful sigh. We just had a howling winter storm last night. I had to bring in my giant red bow hummer magnet cuz I was afeared it would blow away. I do have a VERY exciting pic though. Lookie, lookie who is emerging. Dutch hyacinths usually stunt here cuz the nights are too cold.
Thanks!
Oh no, Robin! They're worse than kids!
i've seen that spinning dahlia it looks nice - folks down the road have huge two kinetic wind sculptures - need to find out where they get them
as long as they hyacinths still smell good... who cares if they are squatty
o onewish I gave up cuz they REALLY looked bad :( The flowers opened (sorta) way down in the foliage and got moldy in the spring rains BUT with the new deck, the dryer vent makes a hot spot. I got a great article from a DGer in CA about the hardier ones. I just put in a grab bag last fall to test the spot before spending big bling. If the cheapos do well I'm going to put in a plethora of the hardy beauties from that trial. I luv these smelly things too ^_^
edit: bigger bling for me cuz I have to pay for the phytocertificate to bring them in from the states. They aren't expensive fancy/dancy ones.

Electrical fire on the Boston T (subway) plus a tree blew over & hit a 9 yr old playing basketball. He is in the hospital--bad, bad blustery day.

Cute dragonfly....haven't seen any yet, but your plants are way ahead of mine.
Really... you are usually ahead of me!
Thanks Allison. Just making sure I havent pulled out something like that.
I did the mistake of asking my lawn mowing guy to plant Mr. lincoln and Pascali two days ago, found out why they were unhappy. He didnt bother making a big hole, made a hole as skinny as the baggie and planted it with the full plastic bag on. My poor babies looked miserable until we lifted them out and soaked the roots awhile. Lesson learned I guess, the same guy pulled out my prized poppies last year.

Allison, the unknowns look like some sibs I brought to Well Sweep. If purple, they're Ceasar's Brother, if yellow they're Cream and Butter.
nice DF, have you had any hummers yet?
oh my goodness... hope your babies recover!!!
