loropetalum?

i planted a shrub 4 years ago and forgot the name of it. it resembles loropetalum with its deep burgundy foliage, but it doesn't flower. any ideas what this might be???

it might be Azalea 'Little John'. that one very rarely flowers. it might also be a "smoke tree", Cotinus.
