I have lily of the valley on a shaded side of my home. Recently found out that it is poisonous if digested. Not that I am planning on eating it, but good to know as I have a 21 month old daughter who is very curious right now in all the new plants blooming in the yard. It is creeping into the backyard and if I pull out the new plantings is it okay to put in our compost bin considering it is poisonous? Eventually plan to use the compost in our vegetable and flower beds. I know I am probably being overly cautious but don't want to make a stupid beginners mistake.
Thanks!
Composting poisonous plants
Yes, it's okay to compost these plants. The toxic components break down along with all else.
