Such a pretty bird, Burd...lol

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Ahhh those darn branches again! ;) I get lots of those burd.
FOV, where's that 500mm lens when you need it eh?

Believe it or not, there's a nuthatch in there.

He was sitting on a branch, and decide to fly to the feeder, as I was taking the pic.

Well I can't see a Nuthatch anywhere Burn. And my eye's get funny after viewing too long. lol
I see your Oriole was at 1/200 for shutter speed...at 1/2000 or more it would have been a super shot.

Marlton, NJ

Good ones guys!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh Burd.....I know that hurt!

I saw a beautiful Belted Kingfisher and a Great Creasted Fly catcher yesterday in perfect light.....but no camera! I about cried. Neither were new birds I just have no good photos of either.

I see burn's nuthatch!

North Augusta, ON

Warblers are hard!! I've got a whole bunch of empty branch shots...and this...sigh...although I did get *maybe* one half decent shot...posted it on the ID forum.

Hi 3g, That reminds me of a Yellow Warbler.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Oooh, I kinda like that shot 3gs!
Burd, totally feel your pain with the prothonotary warbler. That's a hard one to get at all and your shot was so almost perfect!
Burn, that's my luck all the time! They always fly off just as the camera finishes focusing. Usually, I don't get the bird in the shot at all!

Took three terrible pics of a female Redstart yesterday. Oh, which one shall I share? -- Chose the best of the worst. Bad thing about this area is that although you get to see lots of migrating birds, you usually only see them once. If you miss the photo, you don't get another chance until next season!

Thats not too bad Elphaba.

Really bad one of Mom Chickadee exiting the box.

That's one speedy chickadee!
So that one of mine wasn't bad enough for ya huh. How 'bout this one. Dizzy yet?

How bout this one?

I love that one! Is it a nutria or a beaver or what?

North Augusta, ON

hehehe...ground hog.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Ground hog! Cool. OK, not trying to turn this into bad animal photos thread, but you can see why I thought nutria...

ohhh...cool!!
I see the resemblance!!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Both animals are cool, I haven't heard of a Nutria before, however. Thanks all.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

This is so bad you can't even see the bird....well maybe a peek of a baby Eastern Bluebird.

I see a bit of bird, maybe?! Love the grains in the wood. Very nice pic of a bird house!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Just a few feathers, Elphaba. That's an old house hubby made years ago out of reclaimed Cedar. The top is covered in Lichens now, sorta gives it character. There's 4 or 5 babies in there and I'm determined to get pics of them...good or bad.

hehehehe

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

OK, I can top them all -- bad photo and horribly disappointing! Saw a whole bunch of Red Cockaded Woodpeckers this morning which was really cool. Don't think I got a single pic. When I aimed this shot, there were two of them in this tree. Can you find any b/c I can't! It was a longshot (literally) anyway. It was early so this was one of the few trees that they were in that had sun on it.

Nice ones guys!

Duc, Their a lot like our Tufted Titmouse.

Logan Lake, BC(Zone 3a)

Good bad shots!

duc The 2 Oak Titmice would have been a very nice shot had they just sat still for a sec...lol

This Cooper's Hawk was in my yard a couple of weeks ago.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Margaret, great head action! LOL

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

What the heck was that hawk doing?! -- an exorcist impression? The feet look great though.
Burd, dang!
mcash, I rather like the titmouse fight!
