Interesting frog pics, Bea. They look so content in your pond.
Melsalz, I love your grey tree frog. I've never seen any tree frog. They look so tiny.

Here's one loving the lily pad.

Most of the photos are of adults, so I thought I'd add one of the little ones. My yard is literally awash in these little guys, who emerge in waves. Most of the ones that stay around on land are the toads, which this one is, and the tree frogs take off up into the vegetation. Apparently leopard frogs stay near the water source for awhile after they emerge as well, but most of my little ones look like toads, at least once they get big enough to tell! I've found toads less than a centimeter in size on the other side of my house from my pond, so they sure travel fast.

Cute tiny little one he is, Turttle.
Love your frogs Bea.

I haven't seen my frog for the last couple of days. don't know if the cat did something to it, or he just needed some friends.

This guy has been looking for love all summer. He croaks and croaks with no response so far from any of the local frogs. Until today.

WOOHOO, I have frogs again! We have had frogs in this pond for a few years now and last winter the pond froze over solid. Come spring I found several dead frogs and there weren't any living ones to be seen. Well, just the other day I noticed some activity and I am happy to say that there are frogs once again living in this pond.

I saw at least two maybe three of them. Just so happy to have frogs back at this pond again.

Ooh Bea, looks like love is in the air.

When do the bullfrogs start croaking? Bubba is a year and a half old - of course he could be a she.

While cleaning out some excess letuces from the pond the other day, I scooped up 4 itty bitty treefrog tadpoles. They were soooo cute!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

LOL, The tree frog mate in our swimming pool. Last week we were moving frogs eggs to one of the ponds. Not sure if they will turn into tadpoles or fish food. Our tree frogs always live in the pool area and are very friendly. We had 4 of them in there the other day.

We do limit how much touching they can do. Don't want to stress the frogs.

Does anyone know if squash bugs are poisonous to frogs? I think I might have killed Bubba - I fed him 2 squash bugs I found while gardening last Wed and now I haven't seen him since. Waaaaa!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

not poisonous to frogs, but he might be busy with a full tummy findin a friend,

So Bubba is alive and well.....and full! I found him the other day after he visited the bird feeder buffet. I'm sure this poor finch didn't know what hit it! Needless to say, he was waddling around yesterday and finding it very hard to get up on the lily pads!
