Try asking on the hummer & butterfly forum, http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/bbb/all/

or the Florida gardening forum, http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/region_fl/all/

Hope this helps!

For hummingbirds I like red "Cardinal Climber" vines and red "coral bells" (Heuchera brizoides) and red/yellow "Columbine" (tequila sunrise) (Aguilegia Skinneri) and Red "Salvia coccinea" (Lady in Red).

I've never tried for butterflies before, but I picked up a packet of something called "butterfly weed"

Don't let the small size of the flowers of the coral bells fool you, once the hummingbirds find it, they keep coming back.

The Cardinal climber is great if you have a fence or trellis for them to climb. I often space the Cardinal climber Vine between tomato plants to add a little (red) color to that region of my yard.

I try to have a variety of flowers in a variety of locations to give hummingbirds a smorgasbord and I also try to keep the locations spread apart somewhat to reduce territorial hummingbird fighting. Another reason to have a variety of hummingbird flowers is that the flowers often peek at different times of the day and or year; so I find having a variety is a good way of trying to keep the hummingbirds happy most of the time.

I'm going to try some of the flowering plants in containers so I can move them around with a two wheel handtruck so I can adjust the flower locations depending on the weather conditions and to make the flowers more easily viewable when hummingbird watching.

Plants and Flowers in your Hummingbird Garden

I find this chart/users guide helpful in selecting what types of flowers that would be best suited for your garden and needs.
