I am really LOVING my iPhone. It's a device way ahead of its time. The applications are incredible. There is one that allows you to hold the phone next to music playing on the radio or from a cd or whatever, and it tells you the name of the song, the artist and how you can download it! Amazing! So many very useful ones are free.

mine has that too.. it is neat and works!!

Trying to research the best gardening apps. I really only want ID ones - tress/shrubs, wildflowers, birds, etc. Garden planning stuff is pretty silly. Should do that on the computer. Already have apps for all my banking, financial needs! So much cool stuff!

At breakfast a couple days ago, I had my Blackberry with me when a mockingbird started singing his heart out in the bottlebrush next to our breakfast patio. I turned on the video camera and captured the prettiest symphony as well as some photos of my garden there. There doesn't seem to be a way to "share" it or upload it to the web. Anyone know how to do that? When we get back up to Keene, I'll go to the Verizon store and see if they can help me figure it out. I'd love to share it with you guys. The song is so clear and so pretty! I think if I had an i-phone it would be easy to do.

don't know from a BB... but you should be able to upload it to youtube or picasa

That's what I thought, but the menu doesn't give any option. Hank and I enjoy just replaying it. I'll figure it out somehow so you can hear it too.

I know. Been there in late June. Can't change when the kids are off!

Hollywood Fla, seen snow, went through hurrican David, Seen flooded streets and was there when there was a racial/cop incident - McAruthur, I think something to do with a motorcycle and the national guards were called in? Best one but not good was I was in the house and heard a train comming. I said oh oh, get the dog and bird cage. I grabbed the cage and saw the wind starting to whip. Got the birds in the laundry room. Went back to get the dog and the sliding glass door was literally bowed in. Next block over a twister touched down and took down trees. Big Trees.

The best part was shrimping on the Miami Herald docks. One of the best times I have ever had in my life.

I was in Key West in Aug of '85 during a hurricane.

fil comes home today from the valve replacement surgery - modern medicine is amazing!

he is doing well and we have some great stories to tease him about going forward - the morphine they were giving him for the pain made for some funny questions he would ask - after two days he told them no more.

Downloaded the Audubon tree guide and the bird guide. Some astronomy stuff too. I'm like a kid in a candy store!

my co-worker has an app that is hooked to the gps.. gives you a live sky chart... I was walking around during the day and seeing what stars were above me... told him I was going to steal it to use it at night

Should add that CNN's Rick Sanchez commented the other day that Iceland should be too cold for volcanoes. Anyone else and I would say he/she was joking, but this guy is a intellectual midget.

I'm sure there will be a volcano/earthquake predictor app for the iPhone soon!
