I live in S.E. PA and planted this tree late last Fall. This spring there is only 2 buds (very close to the bottom of the trunk). I have scraped several branches and they are green, however, no buds or leaves. What is the problem with this tree? Can anyone tell me?-
Pansy Forest Redbud
I'd give it some time yet--if it was just planted in the fall then the winter would have been harder on it than something that had more time to get established. But if there's green under there then it's still alive so it'll probably just take a bit more time to leaf out.
My forest pansy is one of my latest trees and has just leafed out over the last two weeks here in Georgia. I'd say give it some time.
