We have a flower bed in the middle of our back yard that has a small - 6 ft. Weeping cherry, a butterfly bush and various lillies and some rudebekia. When we planted it it was somewhat mounded. But in the 2 years since we've planted it, the dirt has settled and I'd like to dig it up and raise it substantially back into a mounded shape, possibly adding a stone mini retaining wall.
Any specific concerns I should be focused on? I know the tree is going to need some TLC and I'm going to dig the biggest root ball around it manageable. But any other suggestions on how to keep from stunting them too bad?
Raising an existing flower bed with a ornamental tree in it.
If I was moving a tree of that size as your weeping cherry I'd hire a professional. Be a shame if something happened to it.
