Landscape lighting solution for patio steps ??

Pilot Point, TX(Zone 7b)

Hi...

I need to light up a walkway with several steps on my brick and stone patio. I live out in the country so it gets pretty dark out here.

I've tried the solar lighting systems -- but have concluded that those are just a waste of money. Then there's the "Malibu" lights that Lowes / Home Depot sells...and I haven't been too impressed with those either.

I'm wondering if I should just need to 'bite the bullet' and hire a electrician and install some commercial type solution -- hope not though. And not sure where to FIND a commercial solution anyways.

ANYWAY...just looking for some ideas / suggestions / solutions that others have tried.

Many thanks...
Jann

With low voltage lighting (12v), you only need an electrician to install the regular (outdoor) outlet that your transformer will be plugged into. Even if there is a outlet, it might be best(safer) just to have a new one installed especially if the house /wiring is older. One you have the outlet, either you or a landscaper can do the low votage lighting~ But make sure that outlet has a weather proof, clear plastic dome over it otherwise your connection will malfunction from weather damage.
