thank you guys for the advice, there has been some progress.

Lancaster, CA

covered the peat pots and now we have some habanero, jalapeno and tomato poking through. i put the cucumber and squash in wet paper towel. cucumbers germinated and i put them outside. still waiting on the squash. the okra and basil still have yet to poke their heads above soil after more than two weeks. i'll just keep watering

Next time start the okra seeds by soaking them in a solution of 2 tbsps. Hydrogen Peroxide to a gallon of water. Mine have been soaking since Friday (only 24 hours is necessary), 'cause I haven't been able to get to them except early in the morning before work. Soak too long and they could rot...

The water starts getting cloudy so I pour it off and C-A-R-E-F-U-L-L-Y pour new H2O2 in. Try not to pour fast 'cause they'll swish around and those tails (the sprouts) can break off!

Look what you get in 24 hours!

I think I'm going to try that with my okra seeds. I need to get those planted soon!
