Help so Tulips don't die!!

Glade Park, CO(Zone 4a)

I am tearing down a old flower bed area and have some Tulips that are just poking there heads out of the ground. I know that they should be planted in the fall but, can I try to carefully transplant them to there new home? Or can they be dried for this fall or just throw them away?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Carefully move them now, dig up as much soil around them so not cutting thru them.

Morning flowerjen,

Thank you for your reply. I thought I would try what you suggested. At least I am giving the plants a chance.

Thank you again
Marcia
