You don't see the grandchildren for a month or so and they grow about 6"...no little boys..thank goodness they'll not take after my side of the family..tall they will be

Betty, a few of my friends who I play Bingo with and I went to see "Hee Haw" last night. It was in one of the old rural school gymsthat they use as a comunity center. It was standing room only! They were sooo good, and had lots of great singing, includint the young people performing. We had to get there an hour early just to get a seat, and they put chairs in the aisles! I laughed till I cried! Think we got home about 10:30. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and tried to get my Sweetie, Wayne, to come over and go tonight, but he wants to come over and go out to lunch and go riding in the country to look at the trees and flowers. Isn't he great? I certainly do appreciate him!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was too late when I came home last night, WAS going to go fishing to take some home for my pond...lol...

Ohhh it will be in the high 70's / low 80's today..winds up but it sure feels nice to be outside..think we'll be having Easter Dinner out on the patio...

Wanted to order lumber for the outhouse..my boys just shook their head when I was talking about what I needed with a friend of Bernie's who was there yesterday, Jeff said 'tell me mom you are NOT going to put an outhouse on the property!' yep, might do..lol.. anyway Bernie's friend is visiting either today or tomorrow a friend in the country who he thinks is taking down his barn..IF he is, then he'll pick up old lumber for me so will wait..

Only other thing I'll not have accomplished is adding 8 or 9 - 24" patio stones to the patio..went to Home Depot this morning and they aren't out yet so have to wait until Mother's Day...all else is done..will be able to relax tomorrow..

Well, best I take advantage of a quiet house..some beds to make and sweep the floor..forget how a house can get to be a disaster area with 5 boys..lol..

Must check the turkey, the pond and put the rolls into the oven...be back later...

You had best appreciate him Audrey, good man is hard to find...HeeHaw, can remember watching it weekly on t.v. - nice that you got out, you must be feeling a little better?

Nothing nicer on a beautiful day to go riding and looking at what Mother Nature is doing...

Gab later..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, sad story about Mathew, glad to hear he is doing better.
We are not doing much for Easter. I woke up at 12:30 with bad heartburn, then I broke out in hives from armpits to thighs! After taking meds, I finally went back to bed about 3:30. So just taking it easy. Dad and I will go for our Sunday ride tomorrow after dinner. Todd wants a spiral ham, and potatoe salad. So I need to run to the store and get fresh potatoes. After the ham has beem trimmed, he wants some ham and bean soup sometime next week. So I need to get some navy beans also.

Enjoy your week-end with the family!

Happy Easter everyone!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Audrey, enjoy your ride with your sweety! Sounds like he is a keeper!

Betty, the outhouse would look so much better with old lumber!

Keep us posted.

Morning...

Happy Easter everyone..now don't you be eating too many chocolates..Tubby how about those eggs, you get them all painted...lol

Had a marvellous day yesterday..didn't do any crafts, spent the time with family which was nice...

Yesterday the boys got back and still had 4 GEO CACHE's to find so we made a family outing but not before we prepared out own to bring and locate to co-ordinates...

We're off...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Downhill we went to find one 'cache' near the river stream

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

The climbing was the chore...'cache' was hidden up and along a route next to the lighthouse...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

All got to pick a treasure and leave an item for the next person..what to pick/what to pick!

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Next 'cache' was at the memorial site..'cache' was a micro container with paper so you could leave your name..never knew there was so many possible places to hide something...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

All agreed on this area for hidding their 'cache'..Jeff did the co-ordinates on his gps and today it gets listed on the Geo Cache site...

Now you can't have a family day without including the furries..Ned and Sophie wanted to come with us to hide our treasures....should have taken photo of them after their running through mud and streams..yuk..

Aren't family days grand!

Caleb hadn't been dirtbiking since his had training attachments so after watching all the other boys ride he decided he wanted to..you should have seen the 'smile' knowing he could handle the bike just as well as the others.. (almost-lol)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Homeward bound...one more quick stop, had everyone responsible for picking one big boulder for the pond when we parked at yet a last 'cache'..better remember to have Jeff take them out of his truck today before heading home or I'll never hear the end of it...

We were all tired as could be when we got in....with our Easter dinner behind us, going Geo Cache'ing..it was time to come back for desert and movies and a night of relaxation and boy did this grandma need it!!!!

Surprise/surprise, as we drove up the drive way I could see a pile of old barn board and metal for the roof of my flower outhouse...couldn't believe that Bernie's friend and his wife came about 1 hr. out of their way on a busy weekend just to bring me the supplies..was too late to call last night so must remember to do so this morning...

Nope, lol, won't undertake that project today..by the time every one leaves at noon it will be clean-up time and feet up and rest...

Hope you don't mind sharing me weekend with you..it's been fun..lot's of talk about Roger (remember this-remember that) always with us in spirit...

Think I'll go start breakfast..bacon/eggs/home fries..you'd be proud of me, only thing burnt this weekend was the bread roles...then, must go out and re-organize the yard..lordy never saw such high wind, furniture had to be secured..cushions and light decorative items brought in for safety..even shut the pond pump, spray was blowing like crazy...

Sure hope you have a sunshine day and a day that brings a smile to your face...again, Happy Easter my friends...

Good morning and Happy Easter! I lost the thread! Don't know how, but I did...so lots of back tracking and catching up.

Betty, no we will never live that trip down thru the cornfields and airport runway.....among others!

News here is a bit scary. Paul is still having eye problems, developed high pressure in his eye. Changed drops and worried of rapid developing cataract or something else going on. He goes back Tuesday to surgeon.

It has been beautiful weather here the last 3 days...almost two hot at 86 yesterday! LOL My gardens are full of flowers, for this time of year. Daffs are blooming...I have NEVER had them bloom for Easter. My tulips are up about six inches, little crocus and snowdrops up and blooming....and....my grape hyacinth are blooming! WAY Early for them.

Prayers for all of those in need, to feel better.....stay healthy.

Hugs to my Bev & Scotty. Miss you all.....stay well and Scotty behave!

Tubby, you and Shirley also!

Must run, the cooking starts.

Debbie

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to go back and look at the pics later this evening, I've a ton of yard work to do today, Dave's going to make some sort of special biscuit with breakfast and I'm making fried chicken for dinner, and in the mean time I'm going to go out and take pics of all of the planting and weed digging I did yesterday. I am officially out of flowerbed space!

Happy Easter to you all as well..by now the day is winding down, family has left although I've Sophie and Ned to keep me company...

I'm so grateful for this lovely weekend..I've enjoyed tremendously...had a mixture of total family fun and getting almost all I wanted done accomplished but both have been tiring..

Just had my bath, noticed I've gotten quite a bit of sun, will wait for Greg/Mel to come get the furries and then bed time for me...

Glad to hear Judy made it safely..
Prayers for Paul Debbie, you both must be terrified! I've enjoyed your nice weather as well...

Bev, hope you were able to visit with Scotty..

Barb, how did the school event go the other night?

Bet Crissy and Mary are both lost in their gardens....

Gab later...

OMG Susan you must be totally exhausted..either way, clean and uncluttered house you shall have...take some time to relax this evening..you'll burn out if you don't...did you take time to cook Easter din/din? Was your weather every bit as nice as ours..imagine - 1st week in April and it was in the 80's....

Ahead of the game for sure...hoping we don't get April weather in July though...

no, Betty - no Easter dinner - watching our pennies, but did get an apple pie ^_^

We went to Easter Service, and boy - was it Ever Extensive!
We had a baptism (adult), 4 new members (1 by transfer), and a cross dedication (one of the new members built a cross for the outside spire - we never had one before).
It was lovely weather - a bit cool, but still........ +10c.
Yes, we're tired, and both have work tomorrow, but we have the evening off from bowling league because of Easter, so we can work on the house tonight.

Poor Bob though - he packs the truck up and has to haul the stuff across the warehouse at work, then up the stairs to the mezzanine storage so our place is tidier.... saves the $$ ^_^ ^_^
He's such a sweetie, but it's hard work to carry some of the cabinets - 2 curio and one music cabinet.... tomorrow it's boxes, boxes, boxes.........

Happy Easter All !

Deb - My prayers with you... I hope things lessen up for you soon... I know you need a break....

Liz - Thanks for the news of Judy!

Bev - gorgeous bird pic... did you zoom in to take that? We watched the purple martins at MIL's house today... Seems that the birds bring Spring with them...

Betty - I LOVED hearing about your Easter....what a wonderful time. I wonder if DH's GPS has a similar game... finding the treasure ?

Susan - I wish I could pop up there and help you out... But you seem to have it all under control.... The open house still a few weeks away... I know you'll be ready and everything will be perfect.....

Tubby -Planted the Hibiscus seeds....

Tropical Hibiscus #2 is now showing leaves sprout... DH has told me that one of my hib's is dead...BUT I KNOW BETTER! Because of Daves Garden.... I ordered some Spray that is supposed to bring hibbies back quicker......

This winter was cold and hard...but the yard is now showing signs of recovery...

Crissy - DH says I should have irises by tomorrow... so hopefully I will have pics soon.. LOL

Happy Easter and Hugs to all,

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bev, glad you enjoyed your day..am sure Scotty worries about you as much as you worry about him..it's good that he's somewhat settling in and is losing weight..Lord willing, before you know it he'll be home with you..

Love the bird photo's..you know I've only seen one so far this year, infact few birds are in our area, not sure why, perhaps they know something we don't...

Mary, I don't know how these things work, Jeff said he downloaded them onto his gps and it's played all over the world...in fact, he's checked his kayak trip route out and there are several on some of the islands so he'll participate..what you do is after you have visited you go on sight to say where you are from, if you've taken something what you've left..think Greg/Jeff/Melanie and I enjoyed every bit as much as the little ones..lol..as for your garden, soon no signs of the bad winter will be seen, all will be lush green..

I looked at my hibiscus, at least I think it's a hibiscus and it's doing wonderfully but perhaps there are winter strains that can take our cold winters..will be anxious to participate in the showing of our hibiscus...

Susan, sure hope Bob had someone to help him with the cabinets..still heavy though..so, all your boxes can be stored at his work until you move..that's wonderful..storage units are very expensive...wish you were closer, I've loads of turkey left ..old habits die hard, still cook for family of 20 rather than 8...nothing like participating in church services on Easter .. I did NOT get to church, did watch most of 10 commandments though and the life of Christ..in fact, Jeff was sleeping and woke up a few times and went to change the channel..told him I'd smack his fingers if he did...so we both sat and enjoyed...

Hated to get up this morning, was 12:30am when I got to bed..Paul's away this week so just maybe I'll grab a few winks..already thinking of next weekend, all my work is done, can relax then a thought came to me, one day next weekend is when I do the major cleaning at the office for the Friday exchange...if I were smart I'd stay 1 hr. each night and then Friday night finish up and have the entire weekend to myself..sounds like a plan doesn't it?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Betty, Wow, did you have a great week-end with the family, then you got the wood for your outhouse! ^_^ Very nice!
We had a good week-end also. Dad and I went to his cartakers house for his daughters 5th Birthday, then we went for a ride later on Sunday. Ham dinner with potato salad, and strawberry shortcake.

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, first thing both my boys asked 'where's the ham mom?' ooops forgot it...what I wouldn't give for a strawberry shortcake...bet your dad enjoyed watching the children..

It's raining here today but that's ok as it will make everything much greener..as I stood on the back deck after saying 'no birds' I could hear them all singing...

yes LindaKay, had one of the best Easter's..even Jeff texted me (he set me up with a plan for texting so I could keep better contact with he and boys..taught me how to do it ) he said it was one of the nicest family weekends where we were all able to make it...

He even insisted on doing a few projects for me, imagine, without me asking...usually I keep everything for Mothers' Day but everything is now done..he said he's sure that within a month I'll think of plenty more...

Brought my afghan squares to put together today, not much else to do..

Decided that this week I'd come in early as I'm always up anyway and get 4 hrs. done, stay later Friday and voila, commitment for day off would be met..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty nice nice pics!! I bet you had a great time! It's like a scavenger hunt sort of thing, you use the gps to find the treasure. I would love to do that but I don't have the time and I'm afraid it would take me places where I'm not brave enough to go.

Yup, out in the yard a little yesterday, it was really humid here yesterday so I didn't last long, plus I'm really sore from Saturday. I got new pics I need to show you all though.

I bet Judy is lovin' life right now! Glad they made it to Italy!

Well I have work to do so I'll see ya'll later! I'll get the pics on this computer so I can show ya'll!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like everyone has had a wonderful Easter. We had dinner here with my son and then visited with daughter and family for a while. Today is her b'day and she got the afghan Betty!!! Loves it.
Sean's fun night at school was just that. The merchants in town set up booths at the school. They provided sandwichs and pizza for everyone and they all had some type of game for the kids to play as well as handouts for the adults (of course) but all in all it was a good time. Sean enjoyed it and had fun.
I must get back to the sewing machine today - been away for four days!!!! I'm having withdrawal symptoms!!!!
Have a great day everyone.....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Open House is just 12 days away....... and the pics of the house will be taken next Monday............. place looks like a hurricane hit it.
Well, got Loads and Loads of boxes from work, and so did Bob.
We'll see if I have the energy to fill 'em...........

Well, back to work.

Morning,

April showers today!!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Morning Betty
The sun is shining but the showers are due later today. Sean is here this morning as school has a late start. One day each month is two hours late so staff and admin can have a meeting to discuss any problems together. So Sean stays with us as Mom has to be at the meeting. Papa will take him to school at 10.
Today is work on cleaning this house. For a while anyway. I have sadly neglected a lot of things since Norm got sick and now I'm trying to work at things again a bit each day.
For example - yesterday I polished any silver and pewter in the house. I can't remember the last time I did it. Shame on me.
Today is scrub the OUTSIDE of the fridge and stove and microwave and toaster oven. I keep the insides clean but the outsides need a good scrubbing too. Sometimes I'm just in too much of a hurry. Oh well - slow but sure will win the race...
Hope you all have a great day. Glad to hear Judy arrived safely in Italy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Betty, you have April showers, next are the May flowers! Sure hope you get something growing soon!
I pray everyone is doing well.
Tubby, hope you had a great week-end?
