Need help with my plants!

New York, NY

Hello everyone,
the plants that I am concerned about are my spider, dumb cane, and parlor palm. The tips of the leaves on my spider plant are browning and the smaller leaves on the bottom are yellowing. The dumb can leaves are just turning yellow and the tips of the leaves on the parlor palm are getting brown as well. I only water when the soil is dried out, which is about once a week, and only water until a small amount drains from the bottom. I am no sure what I am doing wrong. Can Anyone help?

The only one of your plants that I personally have is the Spider. I don't let my guys dry out, mine don't seem to like it. I keep them slightly damp at the least. I have them in bright, indirect sunlight and since it has been warming up, they have been thriving. I also mist them every so often because we have a wood stove. The one in my skylight is doing the best and he is the one with the highest, most constant humidity. It's almost like a little greenhouse. So my novice opinion is this is a humidity issue. This is all my own personal experience and I could be totally wrong. But I wish you and your plants the best!

I noticed that usually it is humidity, fertilizer, or too much salt build up in the pot. And it could be the water cycle. Don't let them completely dry out. But this is what I noticed on mine. Hope this helps!

The possibilities for the problems are many, and could probably be eliminated or brought under increasing suspicion by opening a dialog, but the odds favor your problem's origins being directly related to the combination of soil choice/watering habits.

Here is a couple of pictures of my(son's) happy spideys! One is even blooming, which personally, I have never seen. Very pretty little delicate thing.
