Some of my daffidills do not bloom. They come up, look healthy but no flowers. This happens in to areas in my yard. Other 2 areas I don't have this problem
Some of my daffidills don't bloom
Daffodils won't bloom if they don't recieve enough light. Chances are you've got them growing in shade. Try rhodos, hostas, azaleas, lily-of-the-valley in shady spots, they'll do much better.
When I first purchased my property 9+ years ago (it was in the month of Oct), the first thing I planted was daffodils. Not being sure where they would do best on a half acre "blank canvas", I planted a few in an assortment of places. Now nine years later, I have them all moved to the 2 places where they do best. And as landscapetech said, getting enough light is very important in getting them to bloom.
Are you talking about one or two standing alone that don't bloom? or large groupings that used to bloom then stopped? If it's singles I'd say give them light and some food. If it's large groups of them them it's time to dig them up and thin them out.
Good point, Tylersays...when they've been dug up it's probably a good time to amend the soil with some organics, as well.
