This is the flower stalk that popped up under my Red Leaf Striped Ginger (Canna)

can anyone tell me for sure this is part of the plant or is something else I might have planted and forgotten about ~LOL~

the red flower looks like curcuma, a type of ginger.

this is for illustration purposes only, not saying that is the exact one you have. But your mangeta flower is from a curcuma aka hidden ginger. If you didn't plant them, maybe the homeowner before you? They go dormant, so would have been very easy for somebody to plant something else right on top of it.
