I purchased this guy a couple of months ago. I love it and it seems to be doing well. A little while ago, it started to produce a spike from the center of the clusters, and has been getting taller and taller. Is it going to flower? That would just be too cool! Also, does this have a common name? I apologize. I am a beginner and my books don't have very much info on succulents. Thank you.
Is my Anacampserous rufescens going to bloom?
I could be wrong, but I think those are just new leaves. Here's a pic of it showing a bloom stalk, and you'll notice that the bloom stalk doesn't have any leaves growing from it, while in your picture the stalk that's growing clearly does have some leaves on it http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/1096761315039827479wvcZzE
Nice observations, and thank you for responding. I don't know what is going on with this guy. I agree that the beautiful picture that was in the link does not have leaves on the flower stalk. And on mine there is definitely leaves. But, when you get to the tippy top, the "leaves" look different than the usual baby leaves. I swear they look like flower buds. Anyway, time will tell! Thank you so much for your time ecrane! I will update when I know more.
