Dracaena Fragrans Cane Plant Question

West Palm Beach, FL

Hello. I have the aforementioned plant potted inside my house. I purchased it within the past couple of months and immediately repotted it, including a saucer for the bottom to catch drainage. I've noticed a few leaves are browning and dying off. The plant is putting out new growth and seems healthy, but there are a few stray dying/dead leaves. I've attached some pictures. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just transplant shock? The plant gets some morning sun, but not much more; however, I've read that this plant needs very little sun. Help is appreciated. Thanks!

Dracaena are very sensitive to chlorine in the water. Leave your water out for 24 hours before watering with it. It may also be just the dry indoor air. Misting it every day is a good way to keep the ends from drying out. They even do this outdoors, though. Down here in FL, they grow outdoors, and they will turn brown on the tips during the winter when the air is dry.

Thanks for the response. I'm going to start watering it with rain watering I've been reclaiming outside and stop using the city water for my houseplants. Also, I will start misting (with the rain water) to keep the leaves from drying. I appreciate the response! I could grow it outside, but I like the tropical look inside as well :)

If your rainwater is coming off your roof, let it settle for a day or two so the sediment goes to the bottom.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, it comes from the roof, so I will give it time to settle! I can even siphon from the top and dispose of the roof gunk. I pressure cleaned the tiles not too long ago, so I doubt too much algae has built up.
