nanny_56 - Your Blue Jay sure does have an unusual beak.
ducbucln - Yep, I sure am enjoying my 40D, in fact, I just bought another one (body only) off Ebay. I plan to have one set up for birding and the other set up for macro (mainly insects on flowers - and maybe some caterpillars and spiders, too). And that is the first time I ever saw the crest of a Double-crested Cormorant, too. Nice shot.
LindaTX8 - Wow, I've never seen a Golden-fronted Woodpecker, I think it's the male because it's got the red along with yellow and orange. As far as being I male, I think you are correct. Handsome bird.
deannaj1183 - The first pic is a male red-bellied Wp. And, It is far off, but I too, think your 2nd pic is a Pileated Wp. Nice Cardinal, too. Good color.

Daily pics vol. 299
Hi Linda, Thats a wonderful shot of the Golden-fronted Woodpecker!
Very nice pics Duc and nanny!
Deanna, Good ones of the Cardinal, Pileated and Red-bellied Woodpecker!
Thank you Resin for the new thread. I love to see that pretty Eider again and again. Wonderful pics. everyone. Duc, should the LindaTX8's Yellow-Front Woodpecker visit you, please remember to send him my way afterward. lol. Congrats on the wood ducks sighting. I'm still on the search for them.
It has been raining the last couple of days so I didn't have much to share. Yesterday at sunset, I happened on these pic. of the sunset reflection on the water which was interesting, and the these Canadian Geese was a bonus.
Linda, another great photo of your wp. Hope you see them more each day. I don't think they care about feeders being broken as long as they contain food.
Deannaj, great photos of your wps and cardinal.
Hack, if you're not careful, someday you'll be posting photos of all your cameras and lens to match Dave's! Congrats on the new camera.
Lily, I'll remember your request on that new wp! Don't you just love hearing the Canada Geese on the water? I think they're beautiful.
I got a photo of some Domestic Ducks on our lake.
Duc, how exciting to see the Beautiful Osprey in the nest. Plus having the Acorn Woodpecker taking residency nearby!
Y'all really outdid yourselves today!! Very nice shots!
Great shot everyone!! Nice shot of the Eider and thanks for starting the next thread! Everyone's been posting some really great pictures and its nice to see some of the the bird's that are now starting to pop up thanks to spring. :)
Checked out the links from the first Daily pics threads, and made myself go find my first post...Daily-pics 219 was finishing up when I joined DG. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/996842/
I have a couple of shots that Ive been saving up for the daily.

Duc... that's a great osprey nest!
Gardenpom... I like the catbird! They are cute!
Burd... I never get tired of the downy! They are so pretty!
I haven't taken many photos of our balcony visitors lately, but we still have alot of activity! The only newcomer I've noted is a pretty house finch, but I can't get his pic yet!
Well went looking back...I first signed up on Dave's in April 2006. I became a Subscriber in fall 2007. The Angels paid foe my first subscription...I couldn't afford it! There was no Birdwatching Forum then. I think it was on the Wildlife if I remember correctly. I know I looked at the threads. I fed birds... but I was mainly interested in hummingbirds. Boy how things change!! LOL
Move here January 2007....There is now a Birdwatching Forum! I found a post from on a thread about woodpeckers on February 28, 2007. Not sure it is my first tho. We had been here 6 weeks and I knew by then that we had Downy's and the Pileated already. But It seems I was still focused on hummer at the time.
I had no idea yet what a magical & special year 2007 would be for me. That was truely a once in a lifetime experience to see all the wonderous things that Mother Nature shared with me..so many "FIRSTS" that really opened my eyes to the amazing thing called life that happens everyday all around me.
Also I had a very poor Digital Camera at the time, so very few pic.
A singing Song Sparrow!

Not much time to post, unfortunately, but I still manage to find time to lurk and enjoy all the great pictures (and a little time to shoot). Here's my resident Mocker -- a real bully and a pain in the rear for the bluebirds. He can't get into the cage to get the meal worms, so he won't let the smaller birds get in either. I guess he's hungry. Here he resorts to eating forsythia blossoms.
Dave, Your resident Mocker pics. are ummm, give us spring fever. lol. Great shots as always.
Nan we, you and I discovered and joined DG roughly about the same time. My interest in birds-- it has been a long time coming, but taken pics. of wildlife really took hold recently. There is so much beauty nature has to offer if we just look. I'm forever in debt to all DGer friends that share their experience via this website.
Nice shots everyone and it is very interesting to go back and see some of the earlier threads. I will have to check and see when my first post was but I know my world has changed for the better since I did. As Nanny said so many firsts since that first day as well as 3 digital cameras!! This has been a life altering experience for me and life will never be the same.
There are so many beautiful birds on this thread and many of them I have never seen. I would also love to see more ducks!! We had two small ones the other day on our farm pond but they flew off before we knew they were there.
Lily, our Coots are here year round so maybe yours will stay too. Cute BB and Towhee! Great job with the eagle nest.
GP, love that Catbird. I've never seen one and they're such a pretty bird. Pretty one of the wp.
Burd, wonderful shots of the ducks and downy.
Nanny, cute sparrow!
Dave, that funny about the mocker eating the Forsythia. I haven't seen any birds on my plant and they're such a bright color-oh well, love your photos!!
My first Bullock's Oriole arrive on the 22nd.
duc and Dave, love those spring flowers, and the birds only add to their beauty. Nice shot of the feeder birds, nanny. Nice ducks, Burd. I'll be uploading some more pics later today or tonight.
Dave, that second shot of your mockingbird is priceless!
That is a funny shot Dave!! BTW..what is going on with your Blues...you are neglecting us!!
Duc...Just beautiful and those shots really make me excited knowing we will also be seeing beautiful blooms and Orioles!!
The Meadowlarks have invaded and are checking out the pastures again hopefully to nest like they did last year. Here is one for Marna from the back yard yesterday.
