veggie seedlings

Randolph, WI

When do i want to uncover my new sprouts?

tomatoes, peppers, cucs, gourds, peas, beans, artichokes & cilantro. Never started seeds before.

UPDATE:
My hubby is building me a greenhouse - I've started some seeds inside: tom, pep, cucs (container varieties) & chokes- i plan to direct sow the peas, beans, cilantro & gourds in 5 gal containers & let them climb a trellis - Everything is very happy so far, almost 100% germ rates & only used 1 seed for ea pot, i did uncover everything that has popped up & i have a fan on low gently blowing on them from across the room, i do have grow lights but they are in the ceiling (took the other reg florescent ones out & put in lights for plants) - i take their temps 3 times a day, also using bottom heat & of course keep them watered. Does this sound good so far? Am i forgetting anything? Should i make adjustments?

I really do appreciate all advice that you can give me. I am a new gardener but i'm trying. PS- when i signed up & joined this forum the other day it says that i'm NOT new but I AM - does anyone know why is says that?

What do you mean uncover? Wisconsin should have about the same climate as I do in central NY so if you planted beans you are way too early. The same with cucs, gourds and melons. Peas can be planted if you soil is workable. Mine isn't quite but it is clay, maybe tomarrow I can.

Msnure--if you're starting seeds inside, you should uncover them as soon as most of the seeds have germinated. Keep your new seedlings just a few inches from your light source.

If you've planted outdoors, your weather will dictate what you need to do. Newly sprouted seedlings will be very sensitive to cold weather (and you're nowhere near your last frost date).

Please let us know if your seedlings are indoors or outdoors, and perhaps we can advise you better.
