My jade plant in a western window is beginning to grow tall and leggy. I don't want this. I want a low full plant.. Can I cut off the top and replant the cuttings?
Jade plant starting to grow tall and leggy.
That's exactly what i did with my leggy jade plant -- lopped off the top, removed a couple of leaves from the bottom of the cutting, and stuck it in the soil. They root very easily. Also if you leave the original part of the plant still growing, it will start to branch out and become fuller. Good luck.
Adding to shebs45, you can also use the leaves you pulled of and put them in soil. they will take longer to grow roots, but will eventually grow new leaves and you can pull off the original large leaf to have a small baby jade. this works well if you are patient and wish for numerous babies.
