Need a plant that needs little sun.

Loris, SC(Zone 8b)

I have started a small flower garden around the outer edge of my yard . But there is woods around the back of it .I am more or less sticking to bulbs ,But I need something to put around the back to break it from the woods. I have to contend with squirrels ,Rabbits and moles.------You might say give up .but i enjoy try anyway .Any help would be welcome.
Thanks Iva

Iva, try Hosta, Coral Bells, Ajuga (ground cover) Bergenia, Columbine. These are just a few. Google shade perennials to see more for your zone.

Below is Bergenia, my favorite shad plant.

I've also had some success with Astilbe. Pretty foliage and nice blooms.

Are the woods a part of your property? If so, you might consider "cleaning up" the edge of the woods and taking a path back in there to a woodland garden...instead of hiding it.

If you are trying to hide it, you might consider understory trees or shrubs... dogwoods, redbuds, oakleaf hydrangeas, rhododendrons, etc.

Thanks every one for some great ideas , JulieQ I just loved your first idea but I am at the point in my life where I am unable to add on I just need A back ground for what I already have ,so I think I`ll try your second idea. I really like the dogwoods and the rhododendrons or maybe some Azaleas Thanks everyone Iva
