Gorgeous photo.
And keep 'em coming!
I have about 1/2 inch daffodils poking out of the ground and new sedum shoots starting to bud. Still up to 4 feet of snow in some areas.
Looking forward to the greenhouse after the thaw!~
First Daffodils 2010
Thank you so much, everyone!!
Patti, I love that "Wave" - in fact I think I was just looking at it today on Brent and becky's site. Your picture is much clearer than theirs and now I know I want it, so thanks for that. ^_^
I think you will love Popeye. I have noticed over the years the center cup has become a little "looser" and the flower is actually similar now to your "wave", but the first year it bloomed, the center was very tightly packed inside the cup which was cool. Mine has bloomed now for about four years. I think you'll really like it.

I happened to walk by the end of our property, outside the fence, today and found this nice surprise. I shouldn't have been surprised since I planted these back in Dec, but I totally forgot about them
This, in a nutshell, is the pleasure that bulbs give to us. you plant, you forget, you are surprised/delighted.
I ordered some Winston Churchill bulbs. They broke ground a few weeks ago but haven't bloomed yet (though they do have buds). Does anyone have these and what do you think about them? Also, how well do paperwhites do in zone 7b? Thanks!
I have Sir Winston Churchill. It is an AWESOME Narcissus - one of my later blooming ones but always reliable and prolific. Blooms at same time as and great companion to Dutch Irises. Mine will not bloom for another two or three weeks and are just sending up buds.
SWC will be fine but my guess is that Paperwhites will struggle outside and I would avoid planting them outdoors.
This pic is from last year - the white ones are SWC
I've found Sir Winston Churchill to be vigorous here too. Love 'em!
wonderful pics everyone...
I finally got around to planting out my alliums and some new tulips. I'll post what they were when I get home tonight.
They were stored out in my garage and they all have started to sprout... and with the rain we are getting today, I don't think it will be long before they show up.

meadowyck. Wow, that is an interesting approach to fall planting, but it sounds like it might work. I would think they may be stunted in height, but maybe not. I can't wait to see, as we have all had a bag or two of bulbs not get planted as planned. Alliums are so tough that they should rally again next year, but tulips are tricky, no matter when planted, unless they were species ones. Be sure to let us know about them as this is a question that comes up every year. Patti
Thanks for the info. on the SWC! I hope my look as good as the ones in the pic Steve posted.
Y'all are making me add to my want list in hurried fashion, lol! Now if I can just hold out 'til B&B has their end of the season sale...

Has anyone planted N. Bantam? I got it from B&B at the end of the season last year. Seems that a couple of squirrel issues moved the tag so I don't know if it's up or not. I noticed that it's not in the new catalog.
Patti, thanks for the Bantam pic :)) Looks yummy!
I would say your first one is Narcissus Ice Follies and the second one is maybe Sir Winston Churchill. Patti
Thanks for the ID! I thinkg the first one is Ice Follies too (after looking up the picture when I received your comment). I hope the other one isn't SWC. The blooms are small, and I was hoping for bigger blooms when I ordered bulbs that were specifically SWC.
Thanks for the advice and good pick of SWC, Steve. I look forward to the rest of them blooming.
You're welcome, ladybug. Good luck to you and polease post pics when they all bloom!
BeaHive, love the wide shot at the Oregon gardens. Nice! Yours should be coming along too, aren't they?
Patti, I love the "Bantam" - what a beauty. I love orange-cupped daffodils and have many new ones this year also. No 250 varieties here, though - I might have 25 or 30 altogether!
These cute little guys opened today....it is still wet from all of our rain.
Oh My Gosh! Spring Fever is running rampant here. We have had unseasonably warm weather the past few weeks. The daffs have buds already, but it will be a while before we see blooms. For now, I am loving all of your beauties! Some beautiful pix on this thread! Steve, Your gardens are gorgeous as always!
I love the salmon cupped one, Beahive! All are georgous, Steve and Beehive!
All of mines are history now. I got tired of some of the floppy leaves, so I had to trim some even though it's not the best thing to do. I figure I left enough for next years bulb growth, and what don't make it will be my way of thinning.
beahive, I really like the last daff you posted, with the long trumpet. I haven't seen any suitable for the south. Would love to grow something like that.
Have any of you ever purchased daffs or other bulbs from Terra Ceia? I got their catalog today and their prices seemed decent if you're looking to get lotsa bulbs. Opinions will be appreciated.
Nice pretty ones you have there.
