Here's what it was like here this AM. Snow and 26 degrees.

Had about 100 Juncos today, quite an increase from yesterday.

The Crows had their feet tucked in trying to keep warm.

The Redpoll was fluffed and sitting in the shelter of the branches away from the cold wind.

We had a beautiful day here today. It was sunny and up to 60!! It is supposed to rain the rest of the week so I decided to go down to the lake. I went to a few different of the boat launch areas and the main Marina.

I saw a lot of ducks but they were out to far for good photos. I did get a couple of bad one that I will put on the ID forum...never know! Still quite a few Canada Geese around too.

Love seeing the Redpoll!

This one was at the Marina. That wing really looked bad to me...but I am not that knowledgeable about birds.

Oh My I forgot to say ...LOVE that Redpoll too! So missed seeing any posted this winter.

These ducks were huddled out on the ice in the lake.

I am pretty I have seen a Killdeer before...but I was positive. So, I had never put it on my life list. Today I get to add it on my list for sure! While down at the Marina, I luckily happened to spot these 3 Killdeer. YAY!

I think I was maybe interrupting something important....

This is one pair, but there were others. They all have red facial skin.

Ah how can you say the Muscovies aren't pretty?! I think they're wonderful :)

I've seen them close up, lets say their unique looking. :-)

Agree with Wild Rose, domesticated Muscovy Ducks are hideously ugly ;-)

Going by photos, the wild ones in South America are much nicer, but I've never seen one.

Mcash, love that redpoll. Glad you're seeing so many juncos. I just have about 10 now. Hope it warms up there, it was 30 degrees here this morning.

Nanny, congrats on the lifer even if you may have seen them before, it's always fun to add them. You got some great photos, I especially liked the Kildeer shots.

Wild Rose, interesting ducks! They sure are colorful.

We had three Bald Eagles that seemed to enjoy the high winds and rain yesterday.

The crows were chasing and then being chased by the eagles.

I liked this one. Just wish these had been clearer but it all happens so fast that there's no time for setting changes.

The crows forgot about the eagles when a Red tailed Hawk appeared.

Wish I'd had a picture of me trying to hold the camera still in the high winds and rain. The neighbors must have thought I was crazy standing out there.

So many terrific pics on this thread....have to admit I'm partial to those beautiful Eagles. Liked those Kildeer a lot too. Just came in from outside and I got some decent shots, which I will upload later tonight.

This American Goldfinch was eating the snow just before I too this one.

Great job Nanny. I, too, enjoy trying to get the beaks open. Love the wp moving too and the goldfinch is so pretty.

Nice ones nanny! Yes getting the beak open is always a plus! The Goldfinch is cute and I like the hopping Downy Woodpecker!

Got a tip from the Illinois listserv yesterday that there were redheads and lesser scaups nearby.
