passion flower ..Purple Haze

can anyone tell me if the Passion Flower that i planted last year has died or not ..
After the hard winter we've had in the Devon area it looks as though it may have, as it's very woody and there's no new shoots or buds appearing ,i've scraped a bit off the main stem and there is no green in the stem,
Will it pick up ,or has it died ?

This is way too early in the year to give up on things--I'm probably in a bit warmer zone than you are and there are plenty of things that haven't woken back up yet here. Even if some of the top growth died off there's a good chance it could put up some new growth from the roots, so I definitely wouldn't give up yet.

Thanks for your help Ecrane.
England ,and especially my area Devon ,have had an extremely cold winter ,but things are beginning to shoot out now all except the Passion Flower ,i'll leave it a few more weeks and hope new growth comes out from below ground .
Watch this space ...lol.

Unfortunatly my Passion Flower didn't survive ,obviously it wasn't as frost hardy as i thought ,but after this exceptionally cold winter ,i'm not suprised,
I now have a Honeysuckle planted in its place ,..so better luck with that.

I would say it's still too early to know for sure--if you want to give it up for dead and replace it that's your choice, but I've had things get frost damaged and wait until May or even June to show signs of life.
