Sports Talk!! Part 3 - March Madness!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - that's terrible.

Thomaston, CT

I'm for a rule that keeps them out of the NBA until age 20.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

RIT hockey looks sad

South Hamilton, MA

They have to have a yr. of college now. So some of them may be 20. Most do not have a body build for a 82 game schedule. & look at Greg Odum from Ohio St. 1 broken leg & 1 broken kneecap. While body is big not enough body maturity to take all the pounding.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

do not agree - if you are good enough you should be able to play - or until college's start paying the athletes

South Hamilton, MA

After long years of allowing younger players to play, a study (don't know who conducted it) has found that the younger a player started in the league, the more apt he is to have foot problems.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

NFL has been good with that.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Glad to hear about RIT struggling, Deb. They acted horribly when they played at West Point. They are banned from returning. Screaming/cursing at the fans and then at the Army AD!! No class at all. There were many kids heating all this.

South Hamilton, MA

NFL players need even more bulk & muscle. On the other matter; there is not excuse for disgustingly poor sportsmanship.

Thomaston, CT

From the players or the fans!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Victor, I didn't know that, never really paid much attention til they made the frozen four. That's too bad.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Here's what the AD sent out to fans afterward.

Is it possible to ever see Tiger Woods without the Nike swoosh?? I wonder if it's tattooed on his butt.

South Hamilton, MA

As with an other professional golf or tennis player--not supported by a team.

Thomaston, CT

Bet there are quite a few women who can tell you that, Victor!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! Yes, a few dozen, at least.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

That's sad Victor, and I plan to call them and voice my opinion.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mets are still playing in the bottom of the 17th.

Gymnastics was great!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - Mets finally went up 1-0 in the top of the 19th. Then, of course, the Cards tied it in the bottom! Now in the top of the 20th. Mets just scored. 2-1.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hubby was soooo happy the game was still on last night when we got home from church.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have you seen this?!!!

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

That is so aweosme, Victor. If I was that guy, I'd retire from baseball because he's never going to do anything cooler than that.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

believe it or not i have done that playing softball several times - the catcher never knows what the heck is happening.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i am actually surprised it does not happen more often - another move i like to do is stretching a single to a double and as you are approaching second you know you are dead from a throw from left field - i just stop before the bag - whoever is on the bag usually just spins and waves their glove across the bag as fast as they can - when their glove passes the bag i just step on it - you get some really upset folks over that one, especially when i'm there smiling saying i thought you were gonna get me:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - I've done that one a few times.

Thomaston, CT

Well, the Mets beat up on the Cubbies, hope they can do the same with Brav3es....son is heading to Citifield with a friend tomorrow....said he'll take some photos for me.

Thomaston, CT

Wow....Mets win 2 in a row from the Braves....yay!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Whoa - a sweep! Pelf is looking great!

Thomaston, CT

Keeping my fingers crossed...he got into some jams, but was lucky to get out of them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Another fan ran onto the field at the Phillies game tonight. This one was not tasered.

And another PA politician running his mouth, said it's the people in the suburbs fault that the fans are running out on the field.
I live in the burbs and I'm not a moron.

South Hamilton, MA

At least the parents of the boy apologised for his behavior. The taser was tough, but they could not catch him as police are older than 17. I hope that it was not shown originally on TV. They have stopped showing it most of the time to prevent copycats. Got one anyway.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe a taser promotional night at the game??

South Hamilton, MA

Prizes for distance.

Thomaston, CT

What's in their heads?

South Hamilton, MA

nothing, obviously. First boy texted his parents, according to a report, about what he was going to do. They told him not to & he did anyway, typical teen age reaction.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would have texted back, yeah go for it but I'm not bailing you out of Phillie jail.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

The person that ran out onto the field last night frustrated me because it caused the Phillies pitcher (Cole Hamels) to stop midway through his throwing motion which is never a good thing. And then he gave up hits to the next couple batters he faced and he eventually lost the lead for the team.

Disclosure: I'm no Phillies fan but I do like Cole Hamels and I strongly dislike it when the fans interfere with the game like this.
