wireworms destroying potato crop

Monroe, WA

I need a good way to get rid of these little worms. If you have had some experience with these wireworms please help me with this problem. Last year they made thousands of little worm holes in all of the potatos and this year I have already tilled a few up with the rototiller. Thanks

I have not had them invade my potatoes (yet). But I just searched for info on this and there are web sites talking about pesticides but also mentioning how they have developed resistance to most pesticides normally used against them. The following web page seems to basically say to target them when and after they hatch and bait them to draw them to the bait (such as buried potato wedges) and try to just essentially capture and destroy as many as you can before planting.
