Please check out all the wonderful photos in our last thread and post your comments here.

I get to start off with one of three Bald Eagles that sit in the trees close to my home. This one is an immature bird.

This photo isn't very good, but it's the only way I could catch the adult Bald Eagle screeching at one of the juveniles (or immature).

The youngster dipped his head just as I took the picture.

The other juvenile refused to turn around for a photo, but here's the back.

Here's an adult that was a little too far away.

That just has to be too cool to be able to see them on a regular basis! I just keep hoping that someday I will get a photo of one of ours that live here. Thanks for the new thread!

I was going to go look for more Horned Larks but it is cold and windy today and we have had snow showers off & on all day today. I think tomorrow is supposed to be better.

I don't have anything really special to share...just the same old cast of characters. I did have a Fox Sparrow show up today(finally!), but I haven't got those one the computer yet.

So first up is a male House Finch....

I think this male Cardinal was on to me..Hee!

Dark-eyed Junco...I was trying really hard to catch its eye but that is so hard on birds with black heads and eyes!

Great shots Duc! Love those Bald Eagles! Thanks for starting the new thread!

Nice pics nanny! We're supposed to have storms (with snow) from tonight into Friday. Yippee! Not!!!!

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

Great shots of the eagles, duc. I really like the first photo.

Nice photos, nanny. I finally saw a few Horned Larks for the first time. I took a few photos out of the car window but was disappointed with the quality. I should have spent more time in the area and try to get better photos.

BTW, the 2010 Hummingbird Migration map is up from Hummingbirds . net and is in the first post of the sticky.

Collared Dove. I've been watching the Mockingbirds going in and out of my neighbors large Azalea bush, working on a nest. They have used that bush a few times in the past.

Nice shots GP! Love the Red-bellied Woodpecker.

Would you be able to get pics of the Mockers after the eggs hatch without disturbing them? (the adults near the nest)

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I am so looking forward to the summer birds getting here..along with some warm weather. Well my Fox Sparrow turned out to be a Song Sparrow instead... oh well. It has been like that all winter!

It needs a caption!
"For my next trick, I will perform the swan dive!!!"

Two years ago they were nesting in that shrub and I kept seeing a neighbor child climbing in the bush and trying to see the nest. That caused them to use someplace in my yard to nest the following year, since that's when I had the baby Mockingbirds around, but never did find the nest. The Azalea is as high as the roof, and it seems they have built it pretty high this year, which is good.

Al, Nice to see the Brant. Great shots!

Okay GP, I'm glad they nested higher.

Norman, OK

Enjoyed the eagle shots, Duc! You are fortunate to be able to see them from home.

Didn't take Daddy BB long to find the mealworms I placed in the flower. Early morning and cloudy through the window, so not the best shot. But, progress. I'll start moving the feeder back closer to the window/patio.

Nice one red! Looking forward to seeing more images!!

Well it's snowing here. A very wet snow so it's sticking to everything.

Sounds like you might really get slammed again pelle. Hang in there...they say spring is on the way!

Big stretch for this Starling getting some suet!

Nice one nanny!

The snow is bringing a lot of the usual birds in. European Starlings, Common Grackles and more Dark-eyed Junco.

Here is a female Northern Cardinal.

Nanny, love that cardinal. I was surprised to read on the Great Backyard Bird Count that the cardinal was the "most reported bird so far this year and for the past 5 years". Nice one of the dove with that blue sky.
GP, wonderful, clear captures of all your birds!! Sure hope that nest is safe from the kids.
WildRose, LOL! That does fit.
Met, great photos of that brant.
Red, glad the bb found the worms. Sure looks pretty!!
Pelle, that snow looks so cold. Bet you'll have lots of birds at the feeders. Pretty one of the cardinal. Hope to see more grackle photos soon!
Nanny, that starling is lucky to have the suet all by itself.

I think this is one of my favorite pictures of my Brewers Blackbirds. This female was posing for me while I was watching it in the rain.

They sure were chattering to each other.

Beautiful shot of the female Brewers Blackbird. Of course I can't get enough of the Tree Swallows!

Pretty dark here today Duc but I'll do my best to get some Grackle shots.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks Duc for the new thread, I lost track of our thread for one day and here we're almost at the end of the new one! What joy to be able to watch the Bald Eagles at such close range! Love the tree Swallows. Love everyone else pix as well. I've got an Eastern Towhee here, but not sure which gender.

Hi Lily, That is a male. Nice one!

Thanks Pelle, it's a treat to see them around. Hope they can find enough grubs to eat this time of winter... Here I've a Whitethroated Sparrow? This one is exploring my new feeder lower to the ground. I've not seen these birds venturing close to the grain feeder by the window. Too shy I guess.

This pix is blurry, but showing the white feather under the chin better? It's cold and windy down here, though sunny but cold enough to free any shallow water pots outdoor. I'm ready for the winter to be behind us!

I just love your tree swallows duc!

Nice photos everyone!
