Thanks, Allison. Like how dark the background foliage came out.
Countdown to spring! One Photo per Day Part 11
nice shot victor!
see Victor you thought I was bad with my records... Bill is worse than me!!!.. by the time I got done doing that.. the perennials would be done with life and I would have to start over
and that shot is a keeper Victor.. would be good for a contest.. I like the isolated shots that you can tell were not done in a studio
Bill needs professional help.
Thanks, Allison.
I keep hoping I'll get more organized---some of my plants now have tags---we'll see if they made through the winter. Karen, really liked the single peony---they hold up much better than the doubles do for me. Great place to plant DLs, Bill---Jo---I never thought I'd like petunias in a basket, but I do! Allison, great delphs! Prairie Princess is a winner, Victor. And, Pixie, keep inspiring me with the DLs---just can't wait to see the new ones.
not true victor - just a profession
thx celeste :) might be ruby stella although i do not remember that to be the name - happy returns in down by the fire pit - stella is all over:)
Karen you are the collage champ. That looks like you did it by hand.I use Picasa ,all I have to do is choose the images and click collage and the program does the work.
Bill,Since the corydilis will be among the few early spring flowers I will be sure to get pics. I am panting to see the snow melt so I can count the galanthus.
Blizzard this weekend here so Maybe April.
Congrats to Celeste for the BOTD!! I just noticed it.
yeah Celeste... didn't look at yet... I'M A SLACKER!!!... but good for you.. going to look now

isn't that supposed to help heart problems?
Okay I looked and that is a beautiful pic. You are right we need that sort of inspiration on days like this. Just a lovely pic of a beautiful lily. Congratulations, very much deserved.
I confess I have few qualms about collecting seeds, except from people who trust me, but arboretums are fair game Once, when I was far more nimble than I am now found a grove of cinnamon bark maple with winged seeds on them, but they were high up. Climbed the tree and started stuffing them into my brown bag from lunch. Ten feet up, looked down just as a police officer walked by. He seemed not interested so I continued. Took me two years to germinate them, most were blind seeds, I learned that the darn things need double stratification , warm then cold, and it was two Springs before I got trees. Then I planted them out back, a new septic system was needed and when they were six or so feet high the plumber dug them out with a back-hoe I sometimes think I have more disasters than successes in my garden. Even my rosea seedling grow by chance------Weedy
Love the glads! What beauties. =) You said they were knocked over by the rain... those were blooming for you now?!
Have 2 visable snowdrops which are still in bud. Rain today so they are not under snow again. windy though.
Wow!
flowers are nice, just don't care for the vehecile/
Nice DL's, Bill, Weedy and Celeste. I love Dallas Star. I've been wanting to get that one for my collection.
I knew there was a purple one. I had forgotten about Ruby Stella. There is also one called Black Eyed Stella, which is golden yellow with a dark red eyezone. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/13155/
There is a fairly new DL called Going Bananas that is supposed to be an improvement over Happy Returns. More continuous blooms, maybe? I'm not sure.
Nice shot of that Prairie Princess rose, Victor. WC, your rose pic is great, too. Both are really nice close-ups with no distractions in the shots.
Gorgeous lily on the BOTD yesterday, Celeste! Congrats!
Pat, nice combo. Sorry Victor, but that wasn't digitalis, it was penstemon. And it wasn't Penstemon digitalis, either, which is the 'Husker's Red'.
LOL, Aspenhill, men and their toys!
Nice glads, Jen. They would make me 'glad'!
Karen
Ha ha - I was joking! Digitalis is a cardiac drug.
hee hee, No, last year.
I'd be very impressed if it was today!!
I still have a foot of snow piled next to our front stoop.
Oh, I knew you were joking Victor, but thought you got the penstemon mixed up with digitalis.
Karen
Nice! Mountain Ash is one I don't have. I remember our neighbor up the street from us had one when we were kids. I always loved the orange berries on it.
Karen
Makes nice baseball bats!
That's regular ash.
If I had to guess Allison on your noids ......i'd say there were 'Red Sentinel ' & 'Amethyst'.
Very pretty BTW!

nice one Celeste... the astibles came in two different mixed bags.. who knows!!!.. I can't wait to see if the ones I dug up for Louise make it
I've had great luck moving astilbes, and have really increased them by dividing. I would even divide new purchases before planting. They are one of my favorites, and make a beautiful bouquet with lilies and astrantia. I'm planning on getting more this year.
