These threads really are moving along quite nicely. Almost too fast for me to keep up. lol. Margaret I love those pink Galahs on last thread (?), I was chuckled to learn they shooo their young away, just to come back and regurgitate chomped food into their youngs' hungry beaks. I was wonderding if they took off all the flavor from whatever they were feeding on before they regurgitate them. LOL,LOL.
OT; I'm reading a book by Colleen McCullough tittled "The Thorn Birds". Thanks to you, Margaret, for without following your various fascinating threads I would not able to envision the story Colleen was telling in the book-- when she mentioned of various birds and others animals found in the Australia Outback from the Galahs to the Kangaroos or the Kuckaborras to the wild untamed wild boars.
My adventure yesterday after the great Kingfisher turned out like this: A gathering of the Titmice. No Kingfisher!!!
Daily pix #290
...then some Mallards. Signs of spring? I spotted these ducks in pairs in various locations.
How wonderful is that when Pelle and Linth's pics. of the Redbellied to make it clear why they're what they're called. Wonderful pics. everyone. Love those Raptors and the owls. Red, look like a Feeder like what you recently bought, will serve the purpose of offerring my Blue Birds worm meals?
Hack, I'm so glad you have such beautiful shots of the Brownheaded Nuthatch, it's much smaller than the Whitebreasted NH. I've chased that cute bugger for the past 3 days for a pix without success.
You all are moving this thread right along!
Elpahba...Thanks for posting the Shrike...it is a beauty! On your Red-winged Blackbird I could almost hear him...they are becoming quite vocal in our area and seem to be staking out the pond area again this year.
Pelle...OMG...I love that viewpoint of the Red-bellied Woodpecker...had me ROF!! Great shots!
Nanny...Nice shots of the Sapsucker and that Titmouse in the snow is precious.
GP...Love your shots and you know that I am very partial to the Buntings. Can't wait for the Indigo's to return.
jhowdy...Love your shots...the Owl and Raptors are gorgeous.
Wild Rose...That close up is outstanding.
Burd...Wonderful shots of the Geese and Pigeons.
Margaret...Beautiful shot of the Osprey...you have done a wonderful job a photographing them.
Red...Nice shots...and I love that one with the birdbath...too cute.
Duc...Wow on the close-up!
Lily...Love that Titmouse shot and your background is awesome. On feeding your worms...any little bowl at least 1 1/2 inches deep will work. Anxious to see how long it takes the Blues to find them. You're gonna have a lot of fun when they do!
Here is an American Tree Sparrow from a few days ago.
Margaret, Beautiful Osprey!
Red, Nice pics; I have that feeder too.
Nanny, Cute Titmouse!
Duc, Cool Turkey shots!
Elph, Nice Red-winged Blackbird!
Lily, Sweet Mallard pair!
Rose, Love all the Sparrows and Finch!
I just saw a Yellow-rumped Warbler on one of my suet feeders! That's a first in my yard!
If you zoom in the above pic. You will see an orangecrowned Warbler in the background befuddled with the unknown bird above. lol.
I see him Lily. Very cute!
Nice shots Chris!
I have those birds also, Lily. don't think very much of them.
Elphaba - I actually was sitting right underneath the owl and I guess he got tired of me and flew out a little father into another tree. I only saw him when he flew. I was watching smaller warblers when we had our encounter.
ducbucln - Sorry, I'm not sure what species it is. I'm very poor when it comes to naming these small fry. Here is another that I thought was just a HOSP, but the coloring after I looked closer on the rump left me wondering.
Here is one from a while back I thought I would share. A little different than the backyard feeder images. Not sure if this is one everyone is familiar with or not. Roseate Spoonbill taken on the Myakka River from our kayak. This one is a pretty dull compared to when they are in breeding season. This was late fall.
Nice shots everyone!! Today I was able to visit Sheldon's Marsh for the first time in about a month. Got a few shots after having to trek through the snow. A pair of snow shoe's would have been nice but it wasn't too bad. The temps were around 40f and I even seen a couple of mosquito's/midges. First an image of the what the beach section of the reserve look's like at this time.
Do the horned larks migrate north for the summer. I find it stunning that they are in your area.
Here all year long..can be seen by the road side in the summer too.
Burd... love that horned lark. I have never seen one of those! Then again, maybe I'm not supposed to!
Great hawk photos too!
Jhowdy.... beautiful spoonbill!
Ducbuclin.... great turkey shots!
jh, I love the Roseate Spoonbill.
Burd, The beach looks so strange this time of year! Love the Horned Lark and Red-tailed Hawk!

Palm Warbler, winter plumage.
Resin
Resin - Thank you for the assistance.
Burd - The Song Sparrow images are outstanding. They appear almost 3-D, great work. The Redtail is beautiful as well, very nice detail captured.
Elphaba, fantastic shot through the branches of the red-winged.
Lily, sorry about the lack of kingfishers. Maybe next time.
Rose, great captures on the sparrows and finches-so clear!
Pelle, hope the yellow-rumped returns for more photos. Beautiful cardinal and friends photo and the dove looks like it's very comfortable. Gee, I never thought about putting suet in my log feeder-DAH! It might last longer than the peanut butter I've been using.
Lily, cute fury critter stretch too-LOL.
Chris, cute lark photos too!
JH, love that little bird. Thanks to Resin for calling it a Palm Warbler. Love that spoonbill!!
Burd, wow, that marsh looked so beautiful, but so cold. Gorgeous photos of your birds, especially that last one.
It warmed up a little here the past few days and some of my blackbirds and juncos seem to have moved on. Here's a couple Brewers Blackbirds waiting for a turn on the seed feeder.
