Coming from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1072908/
Well we are nearing the home stretch. Less than 30 days to turn the clocks and spring will be less than a week later. Checking your lists? Making final selections? What goodies are just hopping onto your really need list?

Just a little enabling for those interested in drooling over lovely sib. iris and haven't heard already. The Joe Pye Weed 2010 site is up now. http://www.jpwflowers.com/

Oh, dear, Pat, what have you done! Couldn't tear myself away from the iris---maybe just 1---or 2!

South Hamilton, MA

They have a 'median' sized dwarg siberian ' Little sunshine' hooray, hooray. Iris cristata is an American native which doesn't mind shady places.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I saw that 'Little Sunshine' too. Quite a cutie!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:::::not looking.. not looking::::::

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I can't see you... la la la la la

South Hamilton, MA

Don't forget the sieboldi primroses.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh I know. That 'Lacy Lady' I think it was. Ooolala!

Thomaston, CT

Am set to order a few---the ones I liked best, I can't afford, so that should stop me somewhat!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL, yup, that'll work!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I've been spending my plant money on clothes! It's killin me but I really needed some new stuff.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Where are your priorities?!!!!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Ha ha ha I know, that's what a bad economy does to ya though.

South Hamilton, MA

Better than garments of leaves.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would need a whole tree

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Lol! I think Victore smacked some sense into me because I just placed an order at Select Seeds. I only ordered seeds for now. But they do have some plants I am interested in. I was worried some of these would run out. I'd give links so you can see the pictures but I tried doing it in my journal while making my wishlist and the links all bring you back to the front page of the website.

s597 Flax 'Charmer Mix' Seeds
s664 Four O'Clock 'Salmon Sunset' Seeds
s496 Heliotrope 'Marine' Seeds
s413 Nasturtium 'Caribbean Cocktail' Seeds
s392 Nasturtium 'Milkmaid' Seeds
s375 Nasturtium 'Vesuvius' Seeds
s753 Petunia 'Rainmaster' Seeds
s285 Phlox 'Coral Reef' Seeds
s628 Poppy 'Bridal Silk' Seeds

Thomaston, CT

I've had great luck with their seeds, Meredith---and the plants as well. I have my sib order ready to go---I'm ordering from Joe Pye Weed's garden---Ngam posted the site, & I was drooling----getting Sugar Rush, Charming Billy Banish Misfortune, Devil's Dream, Strawberry Social, & Riverdance. Some are rebloomers.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Meredith you have to go under the my info tab .... then under read Meredith's Journal... and you can go under whatever categories you have.. then copy and paste that link for everyone to be able to see it...

confused me too in the beginning ... same with the diary.. just go under the my info tab

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

nice choices robin - i have 4 of your 6 on my joe pie list - will need to look at sugar ruch and misfortune

South Hamilton, MA

I like small plants so looking at 'Little Miss Sunshine'. For those who want yellow sibs to replace the invasive I. pseudacorus I suggest 'Summer Revels'. Getting 'So Van Gogh' as a birthday present for DD at her request. Anyone wanting a small iris plant for partial shade the I. cristatas are good plants. We have 'Navy Blue Gem' & it grows well.

Thomaston, CT

I just planted some small iris for the first time this past fall---can't wait to see them. Bill, I usually don't spend that much on an iris--Sugar Rush---but sibs are so long lasting & hardy, I couldn't resist.

What thread were we talking about the Baptisia??

This is the darker one I liked
http://www.rarefindnursery.com/index.cfm/action/productdetail/product_id/4472.htm

Did not realize that got that tall

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

think it was in the countdown thread.. I grew some red geum from seed last year... can't wait to see if the babies survived the winter in the garden

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Terrific lists Meredith, Robin and Jen. I have several of them already, will be receiving them this spring or they are on the wish list for next year.
I have also had good luck with Select Seeds plants meredith. Jen I am also getting the geum and viola from bluestone. Have the lobelia and baptisia already and like both of them. The baptisia can get quite tall, at least 3' so keep that in mind when placing it. It was on one of the countdown threads that we did discuss them.

Yes, that was the one I suggested you were talking about, Jen. Think I got it last year.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Onewish, thanks, but the problem must be with the way select seeds site is set up. I clicked on every link I had in my blog and they all bring me to the front page of the website. I know I had copied and pasted each individual listing, but I've found some websites just aren't set up in a way that it works.

Flowerjen, those are some gret picks! I love the geum.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

it's some kind of security thing.... I think

Went to Walmart today to pick up some knitting needles & storage boxes----walked out with dahlias, glads, & flower seeds----no control!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sewing and sowing??

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sounds pretty normal to me! Total control exhibited I think, no actual full size plants purchased. Seeds , tubers and bulbs don't count you know.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And the knitting needles are great for making furrows.

This is how my expanded garden would look.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Get helenium, Jen. Nice late season color.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Isn't helenium for full sun?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How many hours of sun does this area get?

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Nice!
