A silhouette in snow :)

All I wanted was to share a snowy picture :). My indoor plants are warm and toasty and no animals were harmed during filming....

Really cool pic! Thanks for sharing. Makes me realize we have to take it on faith that spring's just around the corner! ;o)

Hey Al! How are ya? Yes, it's around the corner. Wow, I really need to clean my window, oh well, it will wait for spring, also :).

It looks like there was a little serendipity involved with the photo? Your camera adjusted the lens aperture for the white/bright background and the underexposed foreground ended up giving you the very nice silhouette.

I'm fine - hope you are, too. Champing at the bit to get working outdoors. My spring always starts early though, with bonsai repots around the first week of Mar. TTYL

Hey there. Nice silhouette. I shot one this week, too, as I glanced beyond my windowsill at the snow.
This is a little orange purple passion flower (Gynura aurantiaca), the kind you're supposed to snip off due to odor. But I think they have a beauty all their own.

Timmijo, that is beautiful. I didn't realize they bloomed orange. My plant is growing well and coloring well, but no blooms yet :). Thank you for sharing your pic. Can I ask what the odor is like?

Ellendale, DE(Zone 7a)

Truth be told, I can't tell. Maybe you have to take a good whiff with the flower practically in your nose, 'cuz I do not detect any odor with these little orange flowers. (Mind you, I have a house full of fish aquariums and teenage boys ... so maybe these flowers DO have an odor that I can't detect due to OTHER scents, lol.)

Here's another shot of the same purple passion (gynura) flower ...

That is cute :). Just proved that purple and orange a a hit.... You got me laughing with the teens and whatnot. Same thing here, I'd never notice over the garlic (son loves it) and wood smoke.

I enjoyed viewing the picture's from you both. This is a view from one of my window's a week or so ago. Bird's are cool to have around as well during the Winter month's. I feed them;-)

DH and I just started feeding them, too. So far we've seen 2 cardinals and other assorted cuties :).

I checked and no blooms/buds on my purple passion. I'll just wait until it gets ready, lol. I've been cutting it back and poking the cuttings so I can plant a basket, so maybe if I quit whacking, it'll bloom :).

Rachel, the cardinals are awesome.

Will you all humor me with one more pic of the purple passion flower? I love to get macro shots with the macro setting on my digital camera. Here it is. And yes, Delaware is expecting more snow in a day or two.

Timmijo, thank you for honoring us with your pretty pics. I've enjoyed them :) I will upgrade my dig cam someday, but probably not this year. I can't get the closeups and sometimes I really wish I could.

Rachel, we started feedng some of my cockatiels food when we saw birds coming in after the dogs food. Now we've bought wild bird seed, lol. DH is going to build a feeder, but for now, they get the top of the picnic table to peck and fight on. We are enjoying the activity and it's nice knowing we're helping them with this long snow cover we've had this year.

Oh, my. Such a beautiful picture. I never cut mine off either; they're just too pretty.
The orange contrasts with the purple so well...
What are the plants in the first picture?
