Well how often do you find a half and half rock? It came home with me too.

Had to take a short break.
Still on the 7th of Feb. We have almost made it down to the breakwater and the river. Look at how high that pile of rocks on the right is. It's protecting some apartments in No. Coast Village. Usually you might climb down 3-5 feet but I've never seen this much rock exposed before.

Photo showing the apartments and how low the beach is relative to them. Those people on the beach are between 5 and 6 feet tall, if that helps you with the scale.

DH says that this is a blasting hole in the rock.

It could almost be a grinding hole. LOL!

The breakwater and river are ahead.

A tree was ripped out of the ground by the river and deposited on the north side of No. Coast Village.
Amazing the power that flood water has.

We don't see much drift wood on the beach, so this is unusual. We do see a lot of bamboo usually.

DH walking next to the river. That bridge behind him used to wash out when it flooded. Now they have a good one built.

The tide is coming in and we are headed back to our timeshare.

I can't believe those people are walking out on that breakwater. The waves have been bigger than normal.

He is even brave enough to ford the river!

This bird wasn't going to move. It didn't and I was within a couple of feet of it. DH thought it might be injured. I didn't see any obvious injuries.

There is a better view of the tree that got washed down river.

Don't have a clue why there would be parallel grooves in this rock, do you?

I had enough of rocks, and stumbling over them, and I needed to use the facilities. So we headed up to the street.

I saw this beautiful mermaid and had to get a photo.
I really love stained glass. : - )

I had to admire this window too.

I had to admire the ingenuity that went into making this gate. LOL!

I was getting tuckered out. So we kept on going til we finally got back to our time share.
Pet peeve. I found a lot of this on the beach, and it ruined more trips to the beach for me when I was a kid than anything else. Why, because my cousin always managed to find a way to cut herself on them. I was walking around with permanently stubbed toes and she would whine about a cut. We quit taking her with us to the beach.
So tell me why do people break glass and throw it in the ocean. If they want tumbled glass you can buy a tumbler at any hobby shop. I've even seen "Sea Glass" on eBay. I'm forever picking up broken glass pieces. I throw the sharp ones away and I've been saving the rounded ones for my gh.
This is what I found in one day.

It's very unusual to find rose quartz on the beach, but it must have recently washed in from some place else.

I just liked the color and the feel of this rock.

Dogs aren't allowed on the beach, but no one told him that! LOL!

You've all been asking, "Where are the surfers?"
Well, they tend to come out early in the morning or late in the day.

Used the telephoto to get this one. Looks like he's having a good ride though!

Sorry the horizon is level, but it sure is a pretty sunset.
