Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Yah, i'm having that problem right now too. They must still be migrating servers.

Caneyville, KY(Zone 6b)

Maggie is adorable!

Been following along and you all have helped me identify a couple of birds already. I've taken some recently that if you don't mind, I'd like to post for ID.

Marlton, NJ

She's adorable duc! I agree there is Terrier in there. How does the other dog like her? Good name too. Congrats!

Great shots everyone!!

Rose, Good to have you back!

Thanks Pelle nice to be back and running!

Marna...I know there are Dee's around since I hear them in the trees when we walk the dogs but they are absent from the yard. I miss seeing them and can't understand why they come to eat.

Duc...Maggie looks a lot like my Madeline that I had for 14 years. Her mom was poodle mix and her dad was an Australian Silky Terrier. She was a fabulous dog.

Another long shot but here are two Northern Flickers and a Red-bellied Woodpecker. Looks like the RB has a grub worm.

Oh Rose, I want to be at your area!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Duc...your Maggie looks so cute.

Thanks for the compliment Rose. I have finally gotten over the fear of playing with settings on the camera. Problem is I can't always remember what worked well! lol

I really think we should all move to the farm.....^_^

Of course Cardinals are a dime a dozen here....

That's a pretty one nanny!

Stafford County, VA

Cute dog, Duc. Any idea how old she is?

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Ha...when I was taking that shot there were 3 other Flickers in the tree above my head!

Here is what I mentioned on the signs of spring thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1075690/ . The male Goldfinches are getting the yellow spots and the five o'clock shadow on their head. Or as my Mom would say "they're going through the ugly stage"!!

Nanny...I hear you about the settings...it is still hit and miss here too!! You are doing fine though and that is a nice shot of the Card.

Dellrose - Those Kingfishers are a real challenge. They might be the end of me trying to get the "perfect" capture of one. Good job on the image as well as the others posted.

Reddirt - Those are some bigtime photos. Great to see the gamebirds and the others.

Ducbucln - Very much a sweetheart, those eyes tell all. So great the you found each other.

You folks are killing me. Tons of great photos, a lot I want to comment on, here goes:

linthicum - what a cool Happy Valentine's Day post. Love the R-b Woodpecker in it.

reddirtretiree - I like the 3 Bobwhites, too. Nice pic. And that is a nice pic of the Red-shouldered hawk.

pelletory - I haven't seen a Grackle of any kind in a while. 20 of them, wow. I also liked the look of that handsome male Northern Cardinal.

misseymarie - I don't know about being on the young side, but that female R-b Woodpecker sure is pretty.

Burd_Fotos - thanks for sharing you shutter speeds. I like Av and M modes - maybe M mode more.

nanny_56 - your Dark-eyed Junco pic came out good I thought. Yep, those Carolina Chickadees are not long on one place.

Mrs_Ed - Congrats on your new Lifer - those Horned Larks.

jhowdy - "No really...be honest...does my butt look too big?" - I learned long ago to never answer a question like that - ever since I asked "Compared to what?" :-) Oh, and that pic of the two Blue Birds in the bushes is really nice.

Elphaba - Congrats, also, on your new Lifers - those ring-necked ducks in the background of your pic. And I have several Carolina Wren and Robins who visit regularly.

Resin - that Drake Eider is a looker. Nice capture

Lily_love - I think you and Dave have corned the market on Blue Birds. Nice pics.

gardenpom - that Red-Bellied Woodpecker is feisty, huh. Nice pics of it.

ducbucln - those Oak Titmouse are cool. Kinda look like my Tufted, but then again don't. And if I saw that Bewick's Wren, I'd mistake it for a Carolina. Congrats on your new addition, Maggie looks like a sweet pup, I can see some terrier, too. I'll bet she's smart.

dellrose - that Belted Kingfisher is a nice looking bird. Nice pic.

2dCousinDave - I also like the yellow tail tip on the Cedar Waxwing. And that male HOFIN has some nice color.

---------------------------

I took a few pics yesterday, but haven't worked them up yet. I be back later - tomorrow.

Went back on the thread & saw picture of 'Maggie' which did not appear last night. Very sweet & certainly some terrier in the mix. glad that she has such nice manners & that you could rescue her.

Lovely bird pictures all. I especially go for the woodpeckers.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Well, I'm back with only a few birds of the 15 different species I photographed yesterday. Here's 5 of them.

The tail is in focus, but the head isn't too good on this Brown-headed Nuthatch.

This Carolina Chickadee has a Black Oil Sunflower seed and is about to take it up to a limb and pound on it.
