Harper re: all the supplement info, I've been doing research for awhile now and talking with my friend(the one who is the holistic health practitioner)checking various websites and seeing the consensus on what usually works and what doesn't.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Please find out what works for the poor husband going through it!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Beer?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Moonshine?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

My friend went to a man vs food party and his friend was rushed to the hospital after trying a competition involving Bhut Jolokia peppers, what an idiot!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Duh!

Talking about hot flashes !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - from both ends!

For a couple of days. Those peppers are brutal. I made 8 pints of salsa. With 14 total of them in it. They werent totally ripe! I cant eat it. JIms kids cant get enuff and I could sell as much as I can make!

You funny!

Harper and Lucy - I can't take estrogen but had pretty intense symptoms, especially the hot flashes and sleep interruption. My boss's brother was a doctor and suggested black cohosh and dong quai root; that was many years ago, but those helped tremendously. Dong quai root makes you sun sensitive, so you have to be careful not to get a pink face. I stopped taking it and my OB/GYN told me to take evening primrose oil. I think it and black cohosh are very helpful. Lucy, I am 62 and still have trouble getting back to sleep once I wake up for any reason. I hate that. My doctors recommend benadryl (over the counter) at bedtime. I think I've built up an immunity to it. Has anyone had success solving the sleep issue?

Victor - I have sympathy for husbands. My poor DH had to put up with a lot....like sleeping with the fan on and the windows open when it's 20 degrees outside. He still wears outerwear to bed. LOL

need help is more like it Jen

:)

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Mom's been having trouble all summer. I was hoping mine was just stress, I'm only 48. Everything else is working like clockwork. Lately I've been getting migraines with it. No fun! Most of my friends or done too.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

migraines are a terrible thing.. sorry to hear that

South Hamilton, MA

Dr. subbing for one on leave said to take benadryl, but the Dr. who treats my asthma won't allow it as it makes it worse. Took the kingd which disolved on the tongue. Drink (diet) quinnine water to help leg cramps. Sometimes I get back to sleep & sometimes not. grumble!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Migraines are the worst. I started getting them back in jr high. I started getting them more frequently lately so I started tracking my food on those days. I think (for me) it's too much sodium. I always thought it was sugar or carbs, but on those days I hardly had any.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Isn't soy supposed to help?? 'Natural' hormones??

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

why did I buy these.. I don't have this kind of patience

http://www.tmseeds.com/product/Delphinium_hybridum_seeds_Pagan_Purples/Perennial_Seeds

germination can take 1-3 months.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I only tried Delp. from seed once, took to long and my germination rate sucked so I never tried it again. Gallon pot size from there on out!! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

better not suck too badly ... only 9 seeds... LOL.. oh well live & learn

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

allison try winter sowing them it is easier - i have gotten them to grow from seed inside although hit and miss - thrying them again this year

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

already potted up inside.. see how it goes.. put the pagan purple in the basement.. it's cooler in my laundry room.. it's off the garage and not insulated.. it gets some heat from the main part of the basement.. but not much .. I have had luck in there with ones that germ. at a lower temp.. the window down there has a nice ledge for small trays.. the foundation block is right under it.. so it stays pretty cool

got this one too

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful, what a combo those 2 will make!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

can only hope

:)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I hope to plant the summer blues in front of this one.. because it's shorter.. and have to figure out better stakes for this one.. makes me nuts.. but I love the blooms

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I had that one years ago, but lost it one winter....I should get another one. Looking at that picture makes me miss mine. Brat! See what you've done!! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh geeze :::::hiding:::::

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's OK...i've done it to you a few times. :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

this forum is bad for the wallet that's for sure!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I keep wondering how the cow pots would fair to WS seeds in them... the ones that don't like to be transplanted might be happy in those.. gotta get a clear container and give them a try

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Onewish I think that combo of delphs will be just lovely. I have that T&M seed catalog sitting here next to computer. Afraid to look, but the cover pic of a delph is not helping. Waiting to see how many of mine return. I have 'Morning Lights' and it definitely needs support here as well. I am going to try to move some of mine up against a new fence for more support and less stakes which I really hate the look of with the delphs. I think Pirl had a good idea with using those small metal trellises to use for support of tall plants like delphs. I am going to try that as well if I can find some cheap short ones.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pat I bought these last year for various plants, not sure if this is what your looking for. Taller maybe? These are 19" I think.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

not bad.. but would have to be a strong one for mine.. all those bamboo pieces sometimes rip out.. hard with the rocks to find a good spot

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

That looks good for one of those new short clems they have specially for pots pixie. Too short for the delphs though I think, but that is the idea. I hear you about the rocks. I have a hard time with my stakes that need to be good and deep for heavy plants. Always seems with those grow through or peony rings that there is one leg that will not go in at the same height. Makes me nuts.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL.. I feel your pain... know just what you mean.. nothing like getting two secured well.. and the third one keeps popping off the ring because I keep hitting a rock.. Randy is much more patient than I am.. he stays calm unlike myself who will get mental real quick.. same way with the covers for the couch.. he will fix them until they are perfect clam cool collected.. me grumble grumble grumble and don't look nearly as nice .. if I could find them I would get the stretchy ones.. but our odd sized sectional can't find them to fit
