Karen: just wanted you to know that I did divide my pink water lily, and so far it looks like I should have one to bring you. Don't know if it will bloom for you this year, but right now it's definitely growing. It is a named plant, but I lost the tag several years ago and don't remember.

I will also have some starts of blue pickerel reed (which I got from Sheila a few years ago). I had to clean the bacopa out of it, so it all got divided up into pieces, but it's already growing back. The bacopa itself didn't much like being thinned, but it will be fine by May.

If some things don't start showing signs of life in the next few days, I will be looking for some replacement plants. Anyone have firespike, root beer plant, or Pride of Barbados?

Also, my "online-friends-iris-bed" is gorgeous this year. I really love seeing the flowers and thinking of the person who gave them to me. So, if you have irises you can dig, and I don't already have one from you, I'd love to have one to add. This bed is not manicured or planned - it's solely for flowers that remind me of friends. So I don't care about color or bloom time or names or anything like that. I mean, if you give me a named iris I will certainly mark it :), but what I enjoy most is thinking of who it came from.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, forgot to mention. I have given away all the good-sized columbine seedlings that I have coming up that I know for sure are the native yellow ones. But I noticed yesterday that I have some new seedlings coming up. Here's the rub - they are tiny and I do not know which plant they came from. I have a mix of colors out there and these babies look like a pod fell in one spot. They are probably red, but they could also turn out to be yellow, Cardinal (red and white), or Rocky Mountain (blue & white). It'll be a surprise. Anyone interested?

Edited to add, duh, I guess I should've said columbines somewhere in this post. LOL.

Anyone who has been saving newspaper, the plastic bags that cover your newspaper, or the shopping bags that are plastic, I need them. If you don't have a use for them, please kindly share them with me.

Also, anyone bringing anything that you want me to deliver to Dave and Trish, please put their name on the plant and who it is from, so they will know who to thank. Otherwise, I'll just get all the credit and you won't get the thanks that you so deserve.

Thank you,
Charlene

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

deliver to Dave and Trish?? They are not coming to the ETRU?

Flint, TX

Hi everyone,
I want to come too!!! I've sold my house with my wonderful yard but dug up LOTS of stuff and it's done really good over the winter. We're building in Ben Wheeler so everything is waiting for it's new home.
I don't have as much to offer as I did last year but this is what I do have (and will have more in the next 2 weeks)
HAVE TO OFFER:
hosta (Ken, Karen)
sedum - several kinds including Autum Joy and another type (some to pbtx)
hydreangea (rooted)
what I think is red monarda (Willis Tx)
daffodils
beautiful purple and white iris (Don't know name but will check and post it) (pbtx, WillisTx)

roses (rooted please because I don't know how yet)
iris - bearded or LA
daylilies
butterfly bush
cone flower
REALLY want some black eyed susans

I think I have this right:
Ken - trade hosta (I will bring several) for nandina, red bud, and yellow or orange gingers)

WillisTx - trade daffodilsm hibiscus seedling and white iris and possibly LA iris for purple and white iris (it's a beauty!) and monarda

Charlene - please check my have list and could I have some yellow lantan, daffodils, bronze mums and hollyhock seeds - I feel like a plant hog but I've left SO many of my plants in my yard when I sold my house.)

Trushann - would you want a noid red canna in exchange for a birdhouse or is there something elsell in my have list?

Mibus- I'd like a mum, blue mist flower and possibly mondo grass (if it's the very short kind) and please see if there's anything you want from my list

Hey Mindy, glad you are coming! I would like some Hosta please....look at my list, I will be adding more later also.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello Mindy, I too would like some Hostas as well as red monarda and daffodils. I am going to add to my haves list this weekend so be on the lookout.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

I have not posted my haves or wants yet but should have some goodies.
Go to Cherokee Co. plant sale to see the trees, shrubs and other things we will have at the sale. I will list the things from that sale to the RU. Also will have some other things.

Just too much going on for me to multitask right now.

Still the dude but a year older.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi Mindy....if you've enough,...I'd like some of the red monarda and the purple/white Iris....I have some La Iris,.... that I'll be posting soon,...that I'll designate some for you. Thanks, Lee

PS: Any particular Lantana you're lookin' for?

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Mindy, I got you on the butterfly bush and coneflowers. Both of mine are just plain old species, if that's okay. I put some echinacea hybrids out there once with the natives... the natives ate them for breakfast. LOL.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I just bought a Texas betony, and I think I'm in love. Does anyone have any extras to spare?

Tyler, TX(Zone 8b)

I also have hostas...these are 1yr old plants I wintersowed from seed in 2008. I probably have enough for 5-6 folks. Anyone interested in some???

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Chell I would love some hostas please

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Chell, I too would like some Hostas. Thanks.

Maggi says 'I think I may go 'independent' and make a few trades of my own this year LOL!' but I see she has not posed a thing, someone should give her a nudge and wake he up.

Flint, TX

Does anyone know who gave me some mums last year? It was 2 plants - one pink and one purple?? They were fairly small flowers but LOVELY last year. I'd trade something good for some more. I'm wondering if it was Charlene???

Mindy

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Mindy....I'll make sure I've got you tagged on those! Lee

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Hey Ken,...I'd like one or yr nanners and some bicolor violets if you have enough!

Are you settin' up again at the CCMG plant sale?

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Mindy
I may be the mum guy. I brought some called Early or Country Girl. Neat pinkish with yellow center. Can bring more for those that want them.

Leave Maggie alone, I have not posted either!! :')
After the sale I will post my list.

Tyler, TX(Zone 8b)

Ken and Karen, I've got the hostas marked for you both.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Lee, we hope to make it to the CCMG plant sale and look forward to seeing you and others. I have lots of Bananas and need to get them out of here and also hundreds of the bicolor Violets so how many do you want?

Has anyone's brugs started coming up yet? mine aren't doing a thing so I am asking so I know if I should add them to my wants list LOL

Mindy if no one has asked yet Could I have the hydreangea (rooted)

Tyler, TX(Zone 8b)

Charlene.... I got you on the hostas. I'll also try to save up newspapers & plastic bags for you.

Could you spare an alocasia cucullata for me??? ;)

Thanks, Chell

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Ken - A couple of nanners and a dozen violets or so would be nice

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

About the Bananas I have, everything froze down to the ground and so far nothing has started back up. I dug up several so I could plant a Pink Dogwood and some of these corms are 16in. across and weigh over 50 Lb. I do not think they will ever grow from the center again but will send up pups for the next few years. I will try to find smaller ones but most of them are lost.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Charlene are Dave and Trish not coming to the the RU?

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh man,...sorry to hear that....I hope they come back strong!
