#284 new daily pix

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Lily...she is a beauty! I saw a Coot on our pond this fall..must have been heading south. I am sooo looking forward to spring and shots of your shorebirds.

Claudcat...nice shots...love the Mallards. You have a great variety!

Linda...Looks like a Titmouse to me...I'm not sure what kind you have there, in our area they are Tufted.

Howdy..welcome to the BW Forum...goodness, beautiful shot of the Oriole. Can't wait for their return in the spring!

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Dell, I sure wish the other birds turned out. They fly so fast and just don't stay put. What's up with that? Don't they know I want their picture? lol

PERTH, Australia

I haven't anything to post, but everyone's birds are just so beautiful. That Oriole is a knockout, howdy. Thanks for the link, duc. Duc, the Wattlebird is an adult male. He was quite a hefty bird. The juveniles are smaller and don't have the reddish eye that the adults have.

Beautiful shots, but that Oriole if gorgeous! I glanced out back and saw my male Red-Bellied Woodpecker hanging from the finch feeder, eating seed...but then it started raining, and he just hung like this a long time, I guess to stay dry. Gosh, in my pic the seed looks' moldy, but it's not, I just changed it.

Hi Hack, The Titmouse has a black crest.

I'll be starting a new thread now, the scheduled person is under the weather more than myself. Be back soon with the link.

Thanks pelle, I just read in one of my books (by Kaufman) that the Black-crested Titmouse, replaces the Tufted Titmouse in parts of Texas and southern Oklahoma and was formerly treated as the same species.

Learn something new everyday.
