not a cage fan - has done a lot of B movies lately without any substance
That's Entertainment!! Part 3
never took cage seriously because I heard he was related to that famous director. Just thought he was given roles as a family favor.
I did like 'City of Angels" thou.
I like him, but Bill is right. Some real lightweight stuff recently.
just to be clear - i do not dislike cage - a few films have been really good - just is not an actor that gets me to watch the movie just because he is in it.
I liked the treasure hunt movies and that one on Alcatraz with Sean Connery (sp. on those two names not so sure of), The Rock I think it was called. I understand he picks rolls for the character not for the blockbuster movie angle. One actor that is a good actor according to most critics, but just doesn't draw me to his movies is Leonardo DiCaprio. I am probably one of a very few who wasn't even interested in seeing Titanic. He has a new one that looks creepy out now Shutter Island.
the rock was good.. and Randy must have watched hell rider??.. the one with the motorcycle 80 thousand times
Face Off with John Travolta was one of his best imho
Can't stand Travolta.
face off was good.
pat have you seen blood diamond? leo was good in that one - actually all of the films after titanic have been pretty good. even revolutionary road which was a little dark, the acting was good.
yeah Randy watched face off over and over too.. that goofy hellboy was one I couldn't take anymore.. over and over and over.. he is like a kid watching barney
Oh I like John Travolta, have since he was Vinnie Barbarino!! LOL
To me he's all ego, like Tom Cruise. Wonder if there is a scientology factor??
i like them both, travolta more
The Scientology thing is probably it with the ego thing, just like Tom Cruise, same cockiness.
I call Travolta Revolta.
grease got me.. sorry I like him too
Oh yeah, loved him in Grease
He was still relatively normal then.
Allison, let Randy know Ghost Rider 2 is in production.
joy
I loved him in Pulp Fiction.
me too harper - great movie
"Who's motorcycle is this?"
"It's not a motorcycle, it's a chopper, baby."
"Who's chopper is this?"
"Zed's."
"Who's Zed?"
"Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead."
Never saw it. Looked weird to me.
:) many great lines in that movie - loved the breakfast conversation about eating swine
rent it - today
Right now?
you are wasting time
On CBS tonight, "60 Minutes" is doing a segment on the "Bloom Box," a smaller-scale fuel cell that *could* revolutionize residential energy usage, getting more homeowners free of the USA's aging energy grid.
If I understand correctly, the cost is approximately the same as photovoltaic (solar) cells in terms of cost to generate, but it doesn't need a sunny day to be productive.
Also, local electric companies can run larger models for their customers; let's see if this increase in efficiency translates into real solutions.
(p.s.: I do not have a science background, so take my comments with a grain of salt!)
I am always skeptical about things like this. Been reading about them for years. As an engineer, I know the huge chasm between laboratory and commercial use.
The "Bloom Box" has already saved $100,000 for E-Bay on its corporate campus, and it has been successfully tested at several other corporate entities, but those environments are specialized, and insular.
So, it has already been proven to work in certain situations; but can it go "mainstream"?
Bloom Energy, the company that manufactures the Bloom Box, is planning a publicity launch (I think it's for Wed.).
That's what I mean. That's a far cry frmo being available and cost-effective for the homeowner. My solar would never pay for itself were it not for the gov incentives.
CBS should do a "60 Minutes" segment on (over-unity) perpetual motion machines!
(*Snickers* ain't just a candy bar...)
i saw bits of 60 minutes tonight - the guy behind this device says it should cost 3K - if it works that is not much
Any technology that gets us closer to being energy efficient (and thus more free of the powder keg Midddle East) is a step in the right direction.
Since this thread is for "Entertainment" ideas, may I suggest that those of you with a Netflix list add Robert Altman's "Nashville" to the queue.
I don't know if that ensemble-acted gem from the 70's has aged well, but it was a heck of a film back in the day; it was a landmark film, like "The Graduate."
"Sewer rat could taste like pumpkin pie, but I'm not gonna eat the filthy creature." - Yeah. Great conversation. Victor, it is weird, but it's so well done.
Saw Altman's "Nashville". Good movie.
Love Pulp Fiction! and Kill Bill! One and Two.
i lived everything about kill bill except the title
Loved Kill Bill!
yes me too
