Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - wasn't it a Beatles type song??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I remember that too, but I seem to remember a 'Yeah yeah' type song!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know what you mean... couldn't find it though

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no drainage but the glow!!

Its the Price - 56 bucks and the auction has not ended.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

amazing what some things go for

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's bacuase it's made of Agate and the colors in those pots are very vivd and bright for agate.

Is made by the Akro Agate Marble Company in W. Virginia - I will guess in the early 40's. Color does have an affect on the price. Under a black light some will glow. That was in the depression era where uranium was used. Ox Blood is a big seller, one pot went off for 45 bucks. Then there is the pure black. One small one, they want 275 bucks for it.

I find out what sells on ebay and then I do research. Then maybe I go to an auction and find good stuff - Cheap.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Anyone watch Fight Science on Nat Geo?? Cool show.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Susan from Sesame Street got hit by a car about 15 miles from me....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow. How terrible.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:(

This question may be odd, but I've been wondering for over forty years (not constantly, lol):

The "Green Acres" TV show had a theme song that used unusual musical instrument sounds, and it also used these same sounds during the show, too.

What the heck is that musical instrument ?!?

What ever instruments they played in Hooterville.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Kazoo?

East Bridgewater, MA

I had a kazoo as a kid, but it never sounded like that...maybe in the hands of a professional, but that begs the question, "Is there such a person who is a 'professional' kazoo player?"

Who would put that on their business card, lol?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would. I have one.

East Bridgewater, MA

Are you available for weddings and biirthday parties?

(Actually, they tell kids to learn the accordian, because it supposedly is a one-instrument "band.")

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Or the spoons!

East Bridgewater, MA

Yeah, put THAT on your business card!

Doug Fieger, lead singer of The Knack, died yesterday following a long battle with cancer. He was 57

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I heard that too. They were really hot that one year. I liked My Sharona.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Loved that song.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I distinctly remembered them being hyped as the next Beatles! Bay City Rollers too!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Who did turn out to be "the next Beatles"?

DH & DS watched "Seven Days in May" tonight. I was busy sewing, but caught glimpses of it. It looked like a good movie.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

went to see crazy heart yesterday with wife and mil - very good movie surprised it was only nominated for best actor - best movie i've seen this year.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Some people say ABBA did!! At one point they sold more records worldwide. Don't ask me how. Puke!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Really? I love ABBA, but just a few of their songs. They didn't write nearly the library of songs the beatles wrote. I was thinking maybe Michael Jackson...

Crazy Heart... hmmm, I gotta go check it out.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

there is some beautiful south west scenery in the movie too harper.

no one has the library of songs like the beatles

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I don't know why, but everytime I think "Crazy Heart", my mind thinks of the movie "Wild at Heart" with Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern. I liked that movie.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Leo seems to be Scorsese's new DeNiro.

Kathryn Grayson died.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Good actress. Not many old time actors left I'm afraid.
Any movie Nicholas Cage is in I will probably like a lot. It's that sparkle in his eyes I think.
Anyone still watching LOST? I am trying to catch up with this thread, so don't know if this has been discussed or not. This series will drive you nuts. Last season on now, they better not muck up the ending or I will be really not happy.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I like Nicholas Cage, a lot of people I know don't like him...yes there is a sparkle!

Lost keeps you hanging. I'm still not quite sure what's going to happen!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Really???? there are people that actually don't like him. I don't think there's a movie he was in that I don't like.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I was watching Lost, but got really confused and couldn't remember the last episode I had seen. I'll pick it up again when I have the time.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I find it hard to believe that people don't like him too. He reminds me of Jimmy Stewart as an actor. He can do any character even a nasty one and you still sort of care about him. There is an impish quality there and he can do very serious or comedy really well too. Not a lot of actors can manage both very well.
Lost will make your head explode if you try to keep it all straight and guess what is really going on, I love that in a series.
