Yes Robin that's what it is. I knew it was something I have had years ago. Good catch. It is very pretty and makes great dried flowers.
Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day(sort of)Part 9
I've never grown it, but now that I've seen it, I'd like to!
finally appeared, took awhile. pretty plant.
Robin's right, it's Statice, i have grown it a few times and it last years in the house dried. Matter of fact I still have some. ^_^
Some people are into statice. I'm not. ^_^
this one is going on my seed want list next year

thanks for the ID!!
What a great blue.
ooohhh that's nice Celeste.. I love the multicolored ones
Some one told me how great iris looked with Baptisia.Yours are proof Allison.
Here is todays plant plan collage.
The Renoire lilies are shorter than I thought so I will plant those bulbs with Nettys Pride and Astilbe.Eclips lily is near but colors not matching wont matter. The short lilies have to go some where. This is best choice.
Thanks Allison! I was thinking the same thing about the iris and Baptisia, but I found a yellow Baptisia that would looking stunning in front of those iris's!!
I even love the baptisia foliage... such a neat leaf shape.. hope mine grows up big!
this is the one I bought at fairweather last year

Is that the one pictured?
Its fabulous
I have the aurileus(sp) They do get big.
I also bought Prairy Blues.
KRAPPS I have just become familiar with using PF and checked on PrairyB and dont like what I see.
It has no punch. Its a lavander not a dark burgundy bloom. The overall Look of the plant is Bland to say the least. Guesss I will be moving it this spring.

I bought Carolina Moonlight. Hope it blooms, the plants were so small.
I really like Screaming Yellow.
no that's not the one in the photo... the height is 3 - 4 feet in the description
ooohh I like that screamin yellow!!!!
Carlonia M. is suppose to grow to 4'-5' so it won't be small long!
The foliage is green/bluish on the Screaming and it seems to make the yellow "scream' more! lol
They offer 8 different ones.........

do they spread at all?
And a nice selection of Phlox too..
https://www.fieldstonegardens.com/index.cfm?page=search
Just punch in Phlox in the search.
Not sure, but I think so Allison.
Ge, i've seen both those colors in bloom....one was more like a wine color and the other was smokey purple.
This is what I found for a description for the Screaming Yellow Baptisia
"Bright yellow flowers on a plant more compact than other false indigo. High impact color on a low maintenance plant"
This is another place I go, about 40 minutes away. I leave my credit cards home when I go there.

nice!!
Thanks Pixi maybe I will wait to see what blooms this year. The plant was new last year and didnt bloom.
I bought it from GC so it should bloom this year.
Over all the plant as a whole in bloom is nothing striking. Not even as nice as Lavander.Looks a bit gray in the PF photo of the whole plant.
that happens a lot with some of these companies
not even close to the photo you thought it would be.. bummer
hope my purple smoke looks as nice as yours!!!
Nice Pat, we won't tell!
I didn't see anything.. don't know what you are talking about
I am encouraged by your PBlues pic Patty. Thanks
I have Purple smoke too. All went into the new garden last year so I hope they will show off this summer.
Ge, is that blue smoke you posted above? Whatever it is, it sure looks healthy.
Back to Baptisia--How long and when is bloom period--This one is not something I have experience with--I think it would be a good one for Capt Kirk to plant
Forgot to say...gorgeous pics ladies--as usual! LOL!.
