Willow - tall plant - how much light?
If lots of sun - try Dierama (Angel's Fishing Rods): TALL, slender, arching, pretty dramatic in a non-dramatic way.
If limited sun - One of the large Plectranthus, Alocasias/Colocasias, Caladiums...
How big is this pot anyway?
Willows Greenhouse
Just wonderful! For what it's worth, I have found that any garden shelving is better if it is tough plastic rather than wood. Not quite as pretty, but much more tolerant of the dirt and moisture that garden products tend to involve.
You have to be just thrilled to death... it is looking incredible!
Willow- Beautiful greenhouse! What fun!!!!!!
Your new garden oasis looks very welcoming. Perfect timing to have it finished for Spring fun.
The pot is 10 or 12 inches and fairly deep. I'm going to have to look-
up all the ones you said before I know what they are. ^_^ I've never tried Caladiums and I do like them a lot. There is a SE exposure with a lot of tall firs so it will get dappled sun till around noon.
The bistro set has been ordered from Costco. It is sooooo cute.
Everything was frozen this morning, poor things. Drooping over. Will be interesting to see what stands up again.
I wil start the PARTY thread this weekend.
you can never have enough storage space in my book....
Looks wonderful. Enjoy, as that will be a great place to work out of.
Janet
Summerkid, as I was working in that flowerbed I found a few of those allium bulbs. I heeled them in for you.
I have also ordered two copper rain chains. One to the rain barrel and will cut the other one if half and hang a piece on each end of the 'glass' side.
Thanks Janet. Nice to have you drop in.
Oh, thank you Willow! The only bulbs I inherited here are plain yellow daffs (lots, though, I'm not complaining) and a patch of plain old muscari.
and the finished workspace.
and the work bench. Dean will be back on Friday to hang the fake windows, so I think I will start the new thread on Saturday for the party. If there are more pictures, they will be on that thread. Sharing this with all of you has made it even more fun. Thank for all your comments and I hope to see many of you at the party.

I love a party where a bag of potting soil could be an appropriate hostess gift!
Thanks willow for posting your project. I have enjoyed every step. Have fun in there!
Gosh wish I was closer as I would invite myself so I could see first hand that incredibly cute new building. Will be watching for your party photos if you don't mind me eavesdropping on the party?
Janet
Heavens no. I wish you could come. There will be pictures I'm sure.
Wonderful, Willow. You will have such a good time.
Meadowyck, please consider yourself an honorary PNW forum member. We have several people who attend our events in spirit if not in form.
Meadowyck - come hang out. Relax. Bring a beverage & have a sit.......
We will have to have a contest. How many DGers can fit in a greenshed.
,,wearing aluminum foil hats, of course. ^_^ Just don't poke out each others' eyes.
Sure is a purty place.
Why yall are mighty friend group that is for sure, I would to hang out here.
DH and I have talked about that part of the country but I'm not big on rain so don't think I would do well there.
But your plants are just incredible, which is why I love coming to visit this forum. Just incredible.
Janet
Meadowyck our rainy climate is what makes the PNW so beautiful! We just go about our business and wear jackets with hoods.
Welcome to the PNW forum!
Willow, since the greenshed is bigger than a Volkswagon bug - darn I wish I could remember how many people we fit into my beat-up orange VW in 1967.
Yeah, Meadowyck, we all get tired of the rain at times, too. But our rain is usually drizzle - it's really the gray sky that will wear you down. On other threads we talk about making sure the Vit D levels in your blood are okay, L-tryptophan, and SAD lights. Many people take a trip or two down to warmer climes in the winter to get a break.
But it does make our stuff grow big, that's for sure. And I don't water my "meadow" in the summer at all.
Meadow - we do swaps too: we'll send you our surplus rain if you oblige with some lovely 80° warmth - it's all about Tomatoes/Peppers, you know.
well here in northern ohio we are about 30 minutes south of Cleveland and very seldom maybe in June for a few weeks we might get close to 80 degrees, but most of the time we are in the 70's here and there always is a breeze blowing....
Yall are just the nicest folks.
I heard that yall have to deal with slugs the size of ponies? is that really true?
the meadowyck comes from our property back in KY it is the most beautiful small farm meadow, and I added the wyck for my collie kennel name then later it was our mini farm name and it is my soap business name as well as a new garden business name.......
I will start checking out yall's gardens in the other threads in your forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome, I do appreciate it, makes me feel like I'm back down south..... with such friendly folks.
Janet
They actually make saddles for our slugs.
But it's not so much the size as the sheer numbers: they've never understood the 1 child per family concept...
Katye.......
funny
so are there any threads in this forum that show how big those things get out your way?
Janet
Meadow, I have a really good picture of a slug that I entered in the DG photo contest (didn't win anything with that for some reason) and I will post it when I get back to the computer that has my picrtures. Will be gone from it till Monday.
Several of us did photo tours of our gardens in '09. They would be back a ways but worth the trek. If we didn't have slugs and critters to wreck havoc in our gardens, they would be too easy to maintain.
to easy to maintain, now that would be a first....LOL
I will await the monster slugs pics......
thanks yall for digging them up and posting. I've never seen one and our here are about half the size of my little finger and a rare sighting would be one the length of my little finger.
Janet
Ooops. The picture I posted was an accident . . . I was looking for the slug picture. I'll never forget years ago visiting my brother in Seattle on a trip down from Alaska. I saw my first slug midway up their garage door - it was huge and the glistening track behind it led all the way down to the ground . . .
check out the pictures in this thread about halfway through:
