Shes about too... #48
Susan, thank you so much. No where else could one have so many good & generous friends.
Susie, what rooted cuttings are you interested in. If I have them, will be glad to share.
Hope each of you will go to church today. God is good, all the time.
I Don't Know Burgs as the rest of you do so I guess I would leave the choices to you maybe a bright yellow
something you might like that is showy in the garden I don't know . in August there will be a group coming
for a tour so I just hope to have a few show cases :) .
is it possible with a few of these ???
are there some that Bloom Sooner then others ???
deejay,
I have two rooted cuttings of burgs. No idea of the color. I got them from Taters. But if you don't mind NOID, than I can send you the two of them.
Fruity that caladium pot is to die for. I love them and can't wait for my shipment from Bill too. They are really slow starters here though. Have to be very warm. Starting them inside helps, but there needs to be a lot of humidity and heat.
Susie I can send you a couple of cuttings of a Frosti Pink brug if you want. They are the first ones to bloom for me. My Mama plant bloomed in April last year and then just kept flushing all summer.
Wowzer, dahtzu what beautiful pictures of the garden, you know what I did because I have an earth bermed house and in one section the dirt kept sliding down, I put my pond raised above the ground, so you could make a shallower pond if you wanted and not have to dig. I am lucky because mine is deep but same principle. Is that a weephing cherry or peach tree? I have planted several of those and they will live a couple of years but our weather gets to strange and I think it kills them, same as a regular peach tree. I wish I had a better understanding on how to incorporate evergreens or shrubs in my gardens, it makes a difference but for some reason I can't figure it out.
Debra post pictures of your pond, we wanna see......Love my DH but most of gardening is strickly mine, including digging my pond. He would help, but it would be when he had the time and I am way tooooo impatient for that...LOL
FOTV, a 100 caladiums wow! Do you wanna split the cost on the number we would want and postage? I agree with you I don't think caladiums are cold hardy at all! Are you looking for some ee starts? I may have some you might want if you are, I thought I read it somewhere. I bought a bag at costco of 40 candidum bulbs. I think I will start my in the garden room so I don't have to wait. I overwinter my bulbs in the soil they grow in and some of them I bag up. The only thing you have to worry about leaving them in the soil is that nothing is in the soil eating the bulb all winter. Oh I don't want any 29 degree! I have daffs buds all over but none are open yet...
On the weekends I am like a little kid I don't want to sleep, I might miss something...LOL
deejay, I should have cuttings enough to share with a couple of you, when my weather settles down a little bit. I think Versi Peach is the best bloomer I have so far, as for multiple flushes and lots of blooms. I don't know what size my pots are except hugh, I know lots of people buy from like Menards or home depot the big plastic pots that have handles on them. Off the top of my head I don't know the size but will look this afternoon.
Debra, glad you heard from Bonnie, we all miss her. Hope she finds her perfect job, once you are forced into looking you might as well go for what you want.
Cloudy but a little warmer, still sooooo wet!
Named or Unnamed is no Diff to me I just want some nice Bloomers for the Tour So I will be happy to send postage for any beauties you all might have to share with me .
Our weather is to get in the 70's this next week Sprinkles so far today . I just had to treck back in the woods after my frankie & Bring him back to the house so I'm hurting or my ribs are so will check back later.
Love your Pictures Joyce
susie
Don't shoot me, Faye but I lost all the cuttings you gave me. I just don't think I have the knack.
There were only 20 Caladium bulbs in that pot up there. Last year I bought six of those big pots for $15 bucks a piece on sale at Lowe's. Three now have the Daff's and Tulips and three will have Caladiums with something tall & spiky in the middle and trailing plants down the sides.
If you can send me a couple of EE starts, happ, that would be great and we'll call it even. That huge clump you sent me last May is buried in a paper bag of cedar shavings.
About 1/3 of the jugs I Winter Sowed have sprouts. Only have 6 more weeks to go we're clear to plant outside and can hardly wait to have some blooming plants. LOL Patience is not my best virtue and am glad to see I'm in good company.
Rain, rain, rain...and a smidgen warmer today in the upper 50's.
FOTV, which ee did I send you and I will send something different. Starting brugs in the fall or winter is I think a lot harder.
OK, I just want to make sure I do these brug cutting correct. The cuttings need to be on brown wood? How long is good?
Thanks
I have some different ones, the tubers may not be large cause they have been in small pots, but they will grow into really nice plants.
OK, what is wrong with this picture....LOL
The basset is NOT suppose to be on the furniture, you will notice the sheet on the couch because he can't be trusted to stay off if I am not around......they both started on the floor, but I guess Slick decided the couch was softer and if no one was using it........
What a hoot! You oughta submit that pic to Dea for one of her Saturday "You Supply The Caption" articles.
You think so? I thought it was pretty funny, seeing DH on the floor with my cover that has dogs on it and the dog on the couch...... Should of taken more shots but was afraid the flash would wake them....which was silly now that I think about it.
Let me know when you are ready to swap. I went out to the garden room and the ee's are doing good starting to grow. Love the ee's.
Leaving to go to Mom's, her pills are not right, this is what scares the heck out of me......
Great pic Joyce!!
lovely picture of the ees and caladiums, and of the two"dogs " sleeping LOL
I have a sheet on the blue chair next to my computor desk here and one on the loveseat, for my Beagle, only thing is there are doggies steps too cuz he is too fat and old to jump up anymore.. Here he is on the corner of the sofa downstairs, while I am gardening.. where ever I go he goes..

Well I've finally got a chance to be here and it's bed time. Have to leave home in the am taking my Sister to Duke Hosp. for her check up. This is my baby Sister and she has cancer. Lately, she is having terrible burning in her back..I'm so afraid the cancer has spread more. Actually to me, she is a big part of my heart.

Good news! Doctor said that Sisters body scan was as good as it could be. No new changes. My God is so good. I know there is going to be a time when the news will not be good, and I know the human in me will ask God why, but I also know that God is in control and He never makes mistakes. Thank you all for your prayers. Yvonne is the most precious, loving , caring, giving person I've ever known. LOL, wonder how she and I got in the same family. she has never tasted alcohol of any kind, never smoked, never said a bad word....now, guess where I fit in that picture. Been there, done that..yes, all of that. I'm so glad God forgives.
Have a blessed day.
Faye, that is great news! HE is an awesome GOD!
AMEN Linda Kay

Happ, yes ma'am...I promise Dea would love to use your "sleeping dogs" pic. I can't imagine how creative the captions would be...especially since your DH is on the floor and covered with that doggie throw. Talk about role reversal....LOL
The presenter for today's class was a retired teacher and wasn't deterred a moment when she never got her Power Point presentation to work, even with the help of an 18 year old who isn't technically challenged. It was such a picture perfect day and have to admit I would have much rather been outside.
Faye, did you hear they're saying we're gonna be in the 80's by Friday?
Your Beagle is adorable, Debra. How old is yours? Shadow follows me everywhere and sometimes lands in the oddest places I don't go.
Faye, Praise God! YAY!
Joyce, I had to work, but got to see a nice daffodil with orange center open today...
Susan, that is the coolest picture.. I love that one. My Duke is 15 years old. Like me, he is now blind and can't hear LOL
Linda Kay.. please tell me those plants were okay and thriving.
Neener and Dj.. Spring has finally arrived, too bad it can't wait until I get off of work. we had a red moon tonight, is it time to plant? DH planted his Yukon Gold taters, and 4 of my russets, now to get a big bag of some sort for the rest to plant ( in the bag)
Debra, they are doing fine. I have them in pots already!
Thanks
I managed to get some onions in yesterday, still have red ones to plant. Of course more lettuce and I thought I'd try some Bok Choy. Need to check on my potato sets. They were ordered, but it just occured to me that they never showed up.. HMMM. Oh well off to do some mowing today. Can't believe I'm mowing already on the 31st of March!
Fruity I can't wait to see Shadow!! Gonna give her a big hug for being a good Mommy. Might give you one too for being a good Mommy. :0)
Not fair beautiful yesterday and today almost 80's and only 50 and rain on Saturday.....stomp my feet and have a tandrum!.....
FOTV, love the kitty, I found a kitten like that dumped along the road in the fall and rainy and I mean small kitten, I put him away from all the other critters and then took him to the vet and he was very ill. He was so small and so cute, but he was too sick.
You guys are sooo full of energy, food garden, flower gardens, oh my.
Have any of you heard you aren't suppose to plant tomato's and strawberries together? or do I have that wrong?
says high 69 saturday here and rain, I hope so, I am putting the brugs out..
Debra I've been thinking the same thing. It is in the seventies and eighties this week. May move them out of the garage and then back in if it gets colder again.
