Recently, on one of the This Old House series, Roger Cook, who is a certified landscape contractor in Massachusetts defined a dwarf plant as one that grows slowly.
Is that true? I have never heard this definition before.
Definition of dwarf plant?
So a 50 foot white cedar would be a dwarf as it is slow growing?
My definition of dwarf would be a plant of a genetically small sized as compared to the norm for that plant. Which would often be a cultivar of a certain plant. For example 'Little Joe' eupatorium, as opposed to the regular eupatorium.
