GYPSIES: THE SEARCH FOR LOST MARBLES
Lynnie,I don't drink fruit juice either.I do drink a lot of water,I even prefer to boil it first and drink it warm,as I don't really like cold drinks,even in summer.If I'm not having water,I like tea or coffee and I particularly dislike fizzy drinks:}
Now you all know how strange I am....grin
Back tomorrow
I drink water & coffee, mostly!
good night joy! enjoy your evening!
That makes 3 of us, I don't like fizzy drinks either. I must say, I might average 5 fruits/veggies a day, but sometimes it's less, sometimes more.
Joy, Lynnie, and Joy, congratulations on getting your five fruit and veggie requirement in everyday! I am not surprised about you healthy girls.
I think I heard 7 servings on Dr. Oz which I thought was a lot! I got 5 in today, 1 cup cabbage salad, 1 1/2cup beans, 1/2+ cup apple in salad. I guess I don't think about it when it is mixed up with other things.
If you go by the USDA, combined fruit and veggies could be between 5 and 9 - 1/2 cup servings

that's good Venice! The RDA's I believe were originally calculated to prevent disease in soldiers, and they probably do need updating, plus we want optimal health, not just to prevent disease, right? I also just try to figure it out by the week, if I have pizza one night for dinner I make up the the other stuff the days before or after.
Unfortunately I never get pizza, my dh is allergic to the crust.
I'm making bread again today. Moon I wanted to put cheese & peppers in one loaf but I'm out of green peppers, plus I'm sure the kids wouldn't eat it.
We have a juicer, so 90% of the juice we drink is made fresh, even the cherry/cran/raspberry juice....when I can't get them fresh, I can usually get them frozen, or find the all natural juice with pulp at the health food store.
Already have a meal planned, Venice. Aidan wants Jambalaya and cookies....so Aidan will get chicken and sausage jambalaya and Grandma will bake chocolate chip cookies. When I talked to them a couple days ago, Aidan wanted to know if it was possible to bake an apple pie just like his Grandma used to make a long time ago....LOL guess 7 or 8 months was a long time ago for him....
I would have been much more pleased if I had remembered the cake photo ON your birthday Joy....grin Glad you had a good day....a tropic display is mighty nice on a winter day....grin
Smiley, that was so sweet of the guys to replace her tires for her...I know she was touched.
Gotta go finish cooking supper....in my next life I am gonna have a cook and a housekeeper on staff just for when I need help or can't figure out what to cook....grin
Y'all have a sweet night, be safe and stay warm...
Good Night, Moon
Lynnie, my MIL made olive bread last time we were there. Basic doughrecipe, flattened out inro a rectangle, spoon drained muffaletto olive mix an inch or so in on the short side covering approx 1/3 rectangle.....cover with fresh shredded parmesan cheese and roll up like a jelly roll. Smooth the ends closed , let rise final time and bake seam side down following recipe directions. We add pepperoncini peppers and black olives also....very good stuff
That bread sounds good Moon, Remember your friend in the here after and let me borrow your staff, I could sure use them :-) Decided to finish this room today, got it done but will need another coat on last wall before I can call it done. Will not go to bed until its done, cause I sure don't want to look at this mess another day lol. Night all, catch ya tomorrow.
Night Flowers....hope you get finished soon. If I am ever in a position to have staff....all my friends will have staff....grin
Cool, night Buddy, I'll be sure to stay your BFF lol
Moon, you are going to have some happy eaters at your hourse! Your MIL's bread sounds absolutely marvelous! (except for the peppers) Is she the odd MIL? Doesn't your DH give you ideas of what to fix for supper? I would like a cook and housekeeper also but for them to come only when I am gone. Then come home to a warm dinner. Ahhh!
Yup, she is the odd one...lol. Thank goodness she is the only one....grin. V, the cook and housekeeper would be more like "buddies" than employees....then it would almost be like being in two places at once....grin
somebody take this bread away from me,I'm on my 3rd piece.
Moon that olive bread sounds yummy!
Back from town..
I want to know where these people on HGTV shop and update their kitchens on a $2500. budget.
Sticker shock here. It's been 20 years since I looked at appliances. And the ones I like are not $250. any more.
I'd just like someone to carry boxes up the stairs...my knee hurts.
I tried real hard to think of a day where I had 5 servings of fruit and veggies. Hmm
Potato chips don't count, how bout cherry licorice, or strawberry taffy, french fries?
Boy do I need help......
Hello Gypsies!!
My gosh, finally done with my project! UM, can't show you except in D-mail, so if you wanna see let me know and I'll d-mail ya!
I am kind of excited as well, they turned out real pretty! And only cuz, LOL one never know who lurks where...
Lots going on, but now I will be able to come play.
So wishing you all a happy Friday. I hope you are all well, have missed you and everyone around DG...But I am one to have to concentrate
on the project at hand or it will never get done. LOL, I easily get sidetracked.
OH My Gosh, so cold here and everywhere.
So grab a drink of? and enjoy the warmth of a cozy fire.
Looks warm and toasty Seed.
Glad you got your project done.
Seems everyone has some kind of project going on.
Hi Seed! I'd love to see your project, I've been slacking on mine.
JJ i'll carry those boxes for you, what appliances did you see & like? I'm sur eyou'll find good stuff on sale!
Thank you Lynnie! Sent you a d-mail.
What have you been working on?
JJ, Ohhh new appliances? yay...got to love them.
I'm tearing up my bedroom, walls & all.
Wow, huge project! What are you going to be doing for the new one?
I'm not having much luck Lynnie.
I don't like stainless steel appliances, built to many of them they scratch and ding really easy. But do like the black with the silver fronts (not as shiny as the SS but looks similar).
Found a whirlpool range I like and the dishwasher wasn't bad but didn't like the fridge that matched. Same with most brands I would like one thing and not the mate.
Or if I did find something I liked it was out of my price range.
Not to worried I could live with mine a little longer if have to, sizes are pretty standard except for the fridges.
Found my recess lights, that was what I needed so he can drywall the ceiling.
BTW that denim insulation runs about $87.00 for 106 sq ft if anyone was interested.
Hi Seed, good to see ya girl! Sounds like you have projects going too. We are all busy trying to get it all done so we can play outside this spring and hopefully it will come early! Got office painted finally, now to the regular domestics that we don't like to talk about. JJ don't give up, something will hit your fancy and you will have to bring it home! Can't wait to see the finished outcome! Night m;y Glypsies, will try to catch you all tomorrow since we willl all be snowed in it looks like.
good morning! coffee's on! get up sleepyheads!
JJ maybe you can get a black fridge that would look good if the other appliances are black & silver. We have black, the fridge is good but the stove and dishwasher are hard to clean, ESP the stove. It's a Jenn-air with the griddle and grill things you can put on the top. It has broken more than once, cost a fortune to fix the first time, and now my dh has learned to fix it himself. It came with the house.
Seed I'm moving my bathroom door. It annys me *grin*
It's 1 degree outside.
Good morning everyone. I woke up at 5:30 as usual, forced myself back to sleep. I needed that, it's been a long week.
It's 6° here, Lynnie. At least there's no wind.
We have white appliances with black trim, etc. I love my stove, but it's getting old. DH didn't want any fancy buttons, timers, etc, so it's basic. That might cut down on the expense, JJ, unless you want fancy bells & whistles.
Morning,
Smiley I agree with your husband, don't want bells and whistles.
But seems like they are have electronic buttons for the oven. I would rather have a knob.
Mine are almond with black.
It's 7° here.
I've got 19* here in Somerset. Let the dogs out for morning call and the big dog is up to his knees in snow. The mini doxy took a step off the porch and disappeared. Had to go rescue her. The cat refuses to even think about going out once she saw the snow and rescue of the doxy. I think I'm just going to stay in and sleep.
Good morning all! I decided to get busy as well yesterday. Among the several things I did was wash the windows inside and out. Then got pressure washer to sideing around the eves of house and around the garage. Which needed it some thing terrible. Now we can see out of our windows...grin. It was a good thing I went ahead and did it yesterday. As its pouring rain today. Moon, now I'm creaking like an old floor! Lynnie, heres a short but sweet name for your (WORM) Happy! He's happy he has the hostess with the mostess! As far as the buffet goes that you feed him,or her. LOL.....Your a good hostess ya give happy plenty of choices.By the way,Seed love the pictures. Flowers,I know your up to no good where ever you are! Grin...Sounds as if all the little Gypsies are busy bees with projects of some sort.
Good morning Marti,LOL...on doxy! Have to give her a little flare gun! Sounds like you have the right idea with all of that snow. Good napping weather!
Hey Dixie, can't believe you are pressure washing house and windows while the rest of us are snowed under and some with teen digets. Smiley, I know if you say you are tired then you are tired! Get some needed rest girl. Morning Marti good to hear from ya, funny doggie story. Hey JJ and Lynnie, hope you are all snugged in and warm. Moon must have stayed up late making goodies for future eats :-)
Gonna go round my self up some breakfast.....see yall in a while.
Got cha a cup poured Dixie, hows my friend???
Hey little bud! Getting hungry? Think I'll make a big old omlet! Puppies are growling. Grin....I'll have another cup, thanks!
Whatcha got planned for today Flowers? It's raining buckets over here.
Hey girl, thought you had left was off in e-mail land lol. Haven't decided yet, may pull out the monster vac. floors could really use it.
I know what ya mean I worked like a old mule over here yester day. Was waiting for DH to do the pressure washing. Have come to the conclusion that may as well do it my self. Would still be waiting other wise. Grin..
I'm envious, my back porch looks like a landfill,, where I've managed to get stuff out of the house but not quiet to the shed yet lol. Know you are glad to get that done. Got me one last summer, can't wait to try it out this year.
Maybe we can go into pressure washing business, I'll wash you dry lol
