I have a couple that have literally eaten part of a chain link fence .. This one in the picture is a mature tree. The amazing part is that it hasn't lifted the fence!
Show Me Your Fence Eating Plants
This one is just a sapling, but it's got a good hold on the fence.

It is! The tree has totally engulfed that pipe! I'm really surprised it hasn't lifted the fence.

I don't have anything like that. But I sometimes see them and it is so fascinating. There is a house I pass from time to time that has a guide wire from a utility pole to the ground. A tree branch ate the wire. When they took down the tree they left a foot or two section where the wire goes through, in place. Eventually it will rot and fall off but it has been like that just hanging there for several years. I will try to get a picture of it.
It is amazing and fascinating! I have to wonder if it weakens the tree.
