Nice hellebore, Jen, and nice witch hazel for you, JoAnne! Nothing here yet. My hellebores don't usually start until March. I haven't checked my witch hazels yet. They may be starting.

Oh things growing in the garden, how nice is that. It will be a while here yet, but it is getting closer. The sun is moving ever so slowly up in the southern sky and getting stronger every day too. Not too long now and these pics help to make the time go faster I think. Thanks for that you guys.

Beautiful Ge... It's so blue, I love it!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It really is more purple, you know what the camera does to reds.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh what a nice present. Doesn't that say spring. Love primroses, always got a few pots at the flower show in Boston when I used to go.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pixi gave me seeds and a plant of the Japanese type.Cant wait to see if they survived.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

They are hardy little buggers Ge!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, what a spring its going to be.

Very encouraging JoAnn. I do hope Feb. goes by quickly. So much to do and I can't wait.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

My last record of galanthus was Feb24th last year and it was fully open.
This is yer 2

I planted snow drops here in the fall can't wait to see them.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I want clouds of them.It might take 10 years.
Thats why I dont buy small plants,or start perennials from seed. It just takes too long to get results.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like them because they bloom so early, but I prefer crocus for their size and colors. Snowdrops are so small.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Nice primrose and snowdrops, JoAnne! A friend called me last weekend to tell me a local Stop and Shop had primroses on sale 3 for $5. I didn't have much money, though, so couldn't take advantage of it. I had just returned from Florida. I would love to get more primroses.

Oh, my witch hazels are beginning to bloom, and my hellebores have nice buds on them. I took a few pics of the witch hazel flowers just opening, but will post tomorrow.

After reading about your new flowers, I checked the snowdrops & found there was still snow on top of the beds.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Karen It will be a few weeks before my witch hazels are in full bloom. The trees are new and I dont know when the Wesley Supreme's bloom but from the looks of it they havnt budded.
We have primroses in the stores now and forced narcissus and purple crocus's. I rarely buy them because the bulbs dont return for me and I havnt had a woodsy garden for Prims until now.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I bought a prim....nice deep red one.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I am excited to see the ones you gave me.I have always wanted the chandelier type but no good environment for them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Be careful what you wish for! LOL Those things were very well behaved for me until I took the seed pod and gave it a twirl one year...now they are coming up everywhere! LOL

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have no fear of seeds except my own LOL4kids in 5 years was a valuable lesson.
The plants may not reproduce for me as they are in mulched beds.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Here are some pics of my witch hazels opening up. This is Diane.

Mine look like that. I have no idea when it will be in full bloom.DD says mid Feb. for the one she had at the old house.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Nice shots. Oh boy it won't be long now. I am ignoring the return to colder temps and focusing on the sunshine and these pics of life out there in your gardens, it seems to be working. Good stuff. :)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i checked all of mine yesterday - have a long wait still

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, bitter cold temps out there today. At least the sun was shining most of the day. But that wind chill was awful! -1 here today! Can't wait for warmer weather.

I was driving one of my clients home today when the sun was setting. Such a pretty, orange sky. I did not have time to stop for a picture, even though I did have my camera. By the time I got her home the color was gone. Some days are like that.
