Garden Projects - 2010

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Ge1836, contractor suit would have been right up your ally with all your remodeling. Eight years is a nice break. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You left out leprosy, consumption and St. Vitus dance, Jo!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeay JoAnn, glad you got out of it. I've done both grand jury and about 15 years ago a trial jury for a murder. That one, although interesting, was a little tough to see and hear all the details.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks all.
I have been up since 4AM stress level was high driving in the dark to the parking garage.I got lost in the Civic Center garage after I was dismissed and nearly just sat on the curb and cried.I couldnt remember what level I had parked on.
With all the taxes we pay you would think there would be someone down there patroling but NO.
I am beat.
Be back bright and early tomorrow.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry, Jo. Get some rest!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Don't feel bad Jo, I actually got lost in that garage too, and had to ask for help. Had forgotten that part.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I ADORE your 'go big or go home' ordering theory Patti ^_^ ge I oft get lost in parking lots too. I usually ask someone to drive me around til I find the car. I have oft abandoned it and come back later to find it cuz it's easier to see when the lot is emptier. That doesn't help if your far from home though :( Rick and Holly I NEED a secret garden! I only have an Alice in Wonderland nook so far. Note: the special design for a resting place for a refreshing beverage. I believe that is the best feature ^_^

D'nut,
Do you have a chauffeur to drive you looking for your parked car?

Assonet, MA(Zone 6b)

Dahlianut, love that nook - sooo inviting.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Debilu, I was surprised that there was only 2 people in the garage in the morning .One was riding a cart( must have weighed 300 pounds) I hailed him but he asked a kid with a broom and trash can to show me the door to the courts. I hope we arent paying the first guy a huge salary,he does nothing as far as I could tell and the place is filthy.
The other kid was polite and went with me to the elevators. This is the first experience I have had that points up confusion on my part. The brain isnt working the way it used to.
A reminder to all you youngsters under 70 : Live it up !!!! I dont regret any phase of aging ,its not going to beat me. I am just resigned to it.
OK enough of this Krap. Its 4:30AM and the day is just starting.
I'm ready.
Dahlianut, I was offered a ride by a stranger. I declined, have no idea why, certainly could have used his help, but thats just the way I am,Capricorns seem to believe they are invincible an forge on against all odds. Bumb HUH?
Garden Projects this year: Still waiting for the snow to melt and the nurseries to open so I can lazagna this area.

JoAnn, I was with a friend and we got lost in Treman SP, not really lost but walked a lot further than we planned, I had parked at a different entrance than I thought. We did ask a young couple if they would drive us back to our car. We could have walked but we were on a time limit to return home. You might know the closest entrance to lucifer falls.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I do remember there are 2 entrances.I believe the lower one off RT 13 is where there is swimming. I dont think I was ever t the upper one enough to draw a visual beade on it . I know how you drive,so you did the right thin g in asking for a ride its an hour or so between entrances on the trail.

Went to Disney World years ago. Was so excited driving into the park on the 4 lane highway. Parked the car, got on the trolley away we go........... Came out and saw a parking lot FULL of cars. Where did we park?

It took me a while but thank god I remembered seeing goofey. Jo I know where your coming from.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Dahlianut, That is a lovely nook. What a nice spot to sit and enjoy the peace of the garden. HOLLY

Pics missing on this thread too. What's the deal?
Hope you got a good night's rest JoAnn. It is so easy to not [pay attention specially when you are focused on getting some place on time. Glad you made it out finally.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

South Hamilton, MA

Thomaston, CT

Oh, no Jo Ann---bad time for you! My husband & his hiking buddy climbed Bear MT. in NW CT & came down a trail that was in NY rather than CT---my DH put his thumb out---the buddy said "No way", but took the ride when it stopped---glad it wasn't an ax murderer! I hate parking garages---very creepy!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i have finally finished one the stone mushrooms - pictures will follow tomorrow if i can prop it up some how - cut a square into the top of the wood stem and a sqaure hole to match in the bottom of the rock - it worked ok, wish the stone blade cut deeper than 1/2 - 3/4" deep - still stone is centered and heavy enough that it should stay put.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

JoAnn did my driving make you nervous? I actually have slowed down a little.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

NO
NOT
AT all. It took me back to the old days when I drove 12 hours to get to a show in upper Mi.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

ok here is one mushroom

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

and here are two others - note that the "stems" will be buried 16" into the ground, the actual heights above ground will be 16", 20" and 24". I do have two others that i plan to make as well. i like the look of the tree branch stems maybe more than stone. have some wood root stuff to paint on them to retard them from rotting.

Cute!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Very nice!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Congrats on their completion. They turned out really nice and I like the wooden stems with the rough bark and lichens. These will look very cute in your garden bed.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

neat

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

cute? what's up with cute, you should see the cut i have from the saw. didn't do that for cute:) there with be no cuteshrooms here.

how about awesome stoneshrooms:)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

yeah that

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

cute!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

actually i am curious to see what they look like in the ground - will need to dig some deep stem holes to get them at the right height and make the top look in scale.

joann neat works for me:)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

that's it i'm quitting dg and it is deb"s fault!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
