Two very pretty combos Victor and JoAnn. WC is that the same rose or two different ones? Very nice in any event. Jen I have had those on my wish list for a couple of years now and was thinking I could put them in and around some of the new yellow /orange echies since they both like similar conditions. What I was wondering is are they very invasive as some sun drops are and how long do they flower for you? Also is the foliage nice even when not blooming?
Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 6
Thanks ngam, it's two different blooms but same rose bush. ☺
(very pretty Oenothera!)
Oenothera are very pretty and can spread quickly, can't say the same for these....they didn't return!

beautiful
Yes, they are very nice, but not long-lived. I had both yellow and pink.
Then your soil was to rich, i've had the yellow for over 7 years.
YIPPEE for poor soil! I'm likin this plant more and more.
That's about how long the yellow lasted.
I don't think 7 years is short lived for a perennial. I can kill alot before that!
I just moved some yellow last year as they were getting thick at the base of the hackmatack.
Which is it? Mine was missouriensis.
I think mine are these...

Nice. Those are different from what I had.
Those are the ones I want that Jen posted a pic of today I believe. I have had the missouri primroses in pink and yellow and they pooped out after a short visit here as well Victor. The ones Jen and Pixie have are supposed to be longer lived perennials. Do they bloom all season for you up there Pixie?
Thes are mine..went looking for an old picture.

Yes, mine bloom off and on all summer.
Mine also bloomed on and off all summer, they have not spread yet as they are only a year old.
Can you tell im French Jen? You say "on and off" which I suspect is the proper way....and the backward Frenchmen in me says " off and on". LOL
Similar to a pewter heuchera I have luvs!
Luvs a lovely pic of a lovely heuch. You made a good trade there.
Thanks for info you guys, maybe this will be the year I finally order it. I think you could make a case for both ways of saying that. ;)
Nice - I really like heucheras.
It's been a few weeks since I've had the chance to sit down and look at all the lovelies. Still trying to catch up. It is so nice to look at these blooms when it is so dreary outside... Here is a picture of phlox 'Katherine' with one of my BEST friends - NOT!!! Constant, but amusing, tactics to discourage these guys. Terri
Do you call them seedlings cuz you you cultivated them and haven't named them yet irisMA? cuz that sure looks like a mature beauty to me!
I hate bambi
Bambi not popular here either, very overpopulated.
Yes, a seedling is a new unnamed iris--needs to be studied. Sometimes just needs more plants of it. I am working with pink standard dwarf seedlings. We transplanted a daylily seedling (thank you bees) just for the fun of it.
No problem with 'Bambi' here, Nice shot! ☺!
Great Bambi shot!!
Bambi looks well fed and content. Nice pic you got Aspen.
irisMA, it looks peachy on the screen, is it more pink in person?
Yes sort of peachy, have to get rid of the yellow. I often sing the pepsodent commercial to myself when I work with them.
very nice
love that one Celeste... will have to look that one up!
Pretty, would that be Southhold?
If the blues keep coming i'll be spending my entire day on this thread. ^_^
